I recently heard that the head of (a major evangelical denomination) came out publicly to state that if there were any of their churches that were following “40 Days of Purpose”, they would no longer be considered a member of (that denomination.)

If a church is teaching “The Purpose Driven Life”, why is this bad? In the “40 Days…” book, scriptures are quoted and then suggestions are given as to how to put the scriptures into action in our daily lives. Isn’t that helping to bring people to know Jesus Christ through scripture and get them more acquainted with the Bible? Isn’t He the only way we can get to heaven?

I am currently a member of a mega-church, which I credit for bringing me back into the church after having been away for 20 years, and for drawing me closer to Jesus than I have ever been. When my church did the “40 Days” study, I actually read my Bible and the book on a daily basis. I appreciated the opportunity to have a structured at-home study guide that was easy to read and understand.

I understand that some believe there are some truths, half-truths, mistakes, omissions, and errors in the book, but aren’t we all human – thus, fallible? I do not believe this book was meant for Bible scholars, but I do believe there is a place for this book, and that the purpose of the book has been reached…bringing people to God.

Is it true that the Tribulation is referred to as a Shevua (One Week) in Hebrew meaning Sabattical Cycle? If so,how can we tell where a Sabattical Cycle Begins and Ends?

Concerning an earlier question of the fate of an unsaved soul. Jesus seems to answer this question with the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man at death was sent to suffer the flames, while Lazarus went to heaven and was comforted. The rich man calls out to God to allow Lazarus to dip his finger in the water and place it on his (the rich man’s) tongue as he his burning alive and can’t stand it.

Is the place the rich man is sent Hell and if so, is there any reference to the place of judgment before the rich man is sent to the flames? Thank you for this website.

I recently read someone’s comment on a blog who believes a “bible teaching” that the Kenites were the descendants of Cain, and that Cain was the offspring of Satan and Eve. I researched and found that this is called the “serpent seed” doctrine. Some also believe that Kenites were responsible for Jesus’ crucifixion and that modern-day Kenites are involved in carrying out Satan’s work. I am questioning this teaching (especially about Cain being the physical offspring of Satan and Eve). Isn’t it inconsistent with the scriptures?

What’s your take on the current retaliation of Israel in Gaza?

I recently read your series of articles on “7 Things you must know to understand Bible Prophecy”–a very excellent portion. Thank you so much! I do have a question however, concerning Ezek. 38.

Everyone seems to think this could be fulfilled any day now, given the current situation in Iran, and their connections with Russia. If that were true, then of course the Rapture could be at anytime also.

However, in reading that portion of Ezekiel, it seems to me there are some very important criteria that have not been met, and that don’t seem likely to happen anytime soon. It seems very clear that when this portion of prophecy will be fulfilled Israel will be at peace and dwelling securely in the land. That is certainly not the case at this time–far from it!

It also mentions the attack is on horseback, and with quite primitive weapons. Is it possible that this portion is really an expansion of Rev 20, at the very end of the Millennium when the final rebellion takes place? It just does not seem to me to fit our current situation by any stretch of the imagination.

If not, then would it not be more likely that after some global crisis ( like Iran nuking us and Israel and everybody retaliating) that Antichrist appears on the scene to bring his “utopian” false peace out of the chaos? It is possible the church could still be here at that point, but then when the world is finally saying at last,”peace and safety”, God brings sudden destruction on them with the beginning of the seal judgments and the Rapture of the church. It could be at that time that Israel is dwelling “securely” in the land with no more walled villages, and builds their temple, due to their relationship to Antichrist.

Anyway,to me, it just does not seem likely to have Ez38/39 happening any time now… just wanted your thoughts.

Did Jesus create wine at the wedding, saving the best for last? Or did he create Grape Juice out of water? It’s my opinion that he made wine. What’s yours?

I have read the responses to the question “Are all Jews Saved?” and am confused. First, the Jews of the Old Testament who trusted in God are saved under the Old Testament right? Secondly, the Bible tells us that God blinded the Jewish people to Jesus in order to fulfill the “time of the Gentiles.”

To say that God would blind a nation of people to Jesus and salvation AND not maintain the Old Covenant with them seems unimaginable for a loving, forgiving God.

What you’re saying is that ALL Jews from Jesus to Revelation, except for the few Messianic Jews, are going to hell because God blinded them to the truth of Jesus and the cross. You’re saying that all of the terrible things done to the Jews, many in the name of Christianity, are simply their sentence for being Jewish.

In effect you’re saying that God condemned them to eternity in hell because some tribe and nation had to be an example and a people for all of the world to hate in order to fulfill God’s plan.

I believe that the Old Covenant must be in effect throughout the “time of the Gentiles” for those Jews who keep it. Doesn’t this make more sense, doesn’t this describe our Creator better?

I just read ‘Best Of Both Worlds? Not!’ and came across this:

‘And when they stand before the Bema Seat judgment (1 Cor 3:10-15) with their salvation intact but absent any rewards, this will become most obvious to them as they experience eternal consequences for a few years of rebellious behavior.’

What do you mean by eternal consequences? As in restrictions placed on us in eternity? The more rebellious we were on Earth, the more consequences (like what?) we have in eternity?

I held the view that all the Church would be equal in eternity, with no class structure. How do you see it?
