The Pope’s Comments
Published: September 20, 2006How does the Pope making negative comments about the Muslims fit into the end time events. This has antagonized the muslims and they seem to want retaliation.
The First Seven weeks
Published: September 20, 2006In your article about Daniel’s 70 weeks, you explain that it’s broken up into 3 sections: 7+62+1, but you don’t separate them. You only explain them in 2 separate sections. Why do you combine the 7 with the 62 OR how is the first 7 separate from the 62? There must be some significance to the difference or it would’ve just been 69.
Imminent Rapture?
Published: September 19, 2006A truly great site, you’re doing an excellent job in helping explain Christianity.
I was wondering what your views on how imminent the rapture is? Whilst we don’t know the hour we do have the various signs the bible talks about.
However I have read over the past 25 years many commentaries, along with appropriate bible versus that state ‘the hour is very near’.
Eg. WW3 would start between USSR and USA, until the USSR dissolved, the emerging EU was seen as a ‘marker’, until the number of EU countries went past 7, then 12, now the plan to create a EU ‘high level group’ may be the next ‘marker’, the rise of terrorism is seen as another sign, etc, etc.
Whilst I believe there will eventually be an ‘end’, what are your thoughts on the various time lines that have been discussed over the past 20 or so years, that whilst being biblically based and sounding reasonable, have all come to nought?
Reincarnation Or Resurrection?
Published: September 19, 2006As a new reader to your site, you may have already answered this question and I just have not discovered it. If not, could you please explain your understanding on this.
I have had serious questions about reincarnation ( God allowing man’s spirit to return to a different physical body) – none of the animal theories. Elijah’s spirit seems to have returned as John the Baptist. I understand that in scripture it speaks of ‘it’s appointed once for man to die and then the judgment’ but when taken in the context of the verses where this was written – wasn’t this speaking in terms that man could understand yet referring to the one and only sacrifice of Jesus Christ – there is no other sacrifice for our sins other than that of Jesus. It was a one time thing – as we know.
The ultimate judgment of mankind, if I understand it correctly, won’t be until the Bema seat of Christ for believers and at the Great White Throne for non-believers. Does this negate the possibility of God allowing spirits to reincarnate on earth to continue learning the lessons they may have failed to learn and for His glory the way Elijah’s spirit did?
I don’t believe that reincarnation is a second chance opportunity to accept Jesus – if it is, then fine but I’m not waiting for that. I accepted Jesus as a ten year old and am still seeking to live my life for Him and to learn what God would have me do each day. I also would not advise anyone to wait – no matter what proof of reincarnation there was.
It seems there is a lot of indication when people, even children, have knowledge of another life with no possibility of learning that by the normal senses, that reincarnation could be possible. I also discount anyone who claims to be someone in recent recognition or some historical figure.
I do believe that God can do anything and that our understanding of time and His plans are rarely clear and if it serves His purpose, then reincarnation is definitely possible.
I have also been led to believe that in the past there have been efforts to take any hint of reincarnation from the scriptures.
I am not attempting to make a case for or against reincarnation. I would just appreciate any clarification that you might share with me.
No Smokers In The Rapture?
Published: September 17, 2006I just want to clear something up! In the article “will smokers miss the rapture” your saying that smokers will be part of the rapture? Aren’t we supposed to be led by the spirit of God and have the Spirit of God within us in order to be raptured? So then how does this work?
If a person is addicted to something eg. smokes, that means that he/she cant’ control themselves (in this area), which makes me believe that they’re being controlled by something else. It can not be the Holy Spirit (because the Holy Spirit doesn’t encourage you to do things that will hurt your body or the place where He dwells). This means that he/she must be controlled by a bad spirit that is trying to keep him/her hooked to something that belongs to the world and not to God. You can’t associate smokers with church. I can’t see the Bride smoking! If this is true then wouldn’t you say that the smoker might be endangered to miss the rapture?
Wouldn’t it be better to say that he should get a lot of help in prayer so that God may give him the strength to get rid of the addiction. so that the Holy Spirit can be in full control of him? When you give your life to God, shouldn’t He be in control of it? This may require some sacrifices from us eg. what we do, what we say, how we dress etc, where we go etc. Am I wrong?
False Prophets And Carnal Christians
Published: September 17, 2006My friend is a member of (a major Denomination) and her brother-in-law is the preacher of that church. Recently we were discussing the issue of Eternal Salvation and she pointed me to 2 Peter 2:20, “For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.”
While I realize this verse is discussing false prophets should my argument be that this verse is talking about non-believers? Isn’t it possible for a false prophet to be saved and just simply become a false prophet through deception? Her comment to me was that if a person returns to their sin and doesn’t turn back to God before they die, remaining in that sin always then surely they have lost their salvation. Is it true that a person that remains in their sin probably wasn’t saved in the first place or are they saved carnal Christians? Thanks so much, your website is a true blessing to myself and my family. Such wonderful knowledge and incredibly inspiring.
Who Are The Jews?
Published: September 17, 2006Biblically, what’s the difference between the Jews, the Israelis, and the Gentiles? Are the Jews just from the tribe of Judah? Are the Israelis all those that are considered Jews and Gentiles in the bible? (personally I do not believe so, but could use some help with solid answers, I’m a bit confused) Thank you SOOOO much!!
Are We All Related?
Published: September 17, 2006My unsaved husband asked me “If Noah only had 3 sons, where have all the different races come from, assuming there isn’t any thing to the theory of evolution?” I have no idea how to answer him.
Halloween. Satan’s Holiday?
Published: September 17, 2006I have a 9 year old nephew that was told the other day by a classmate that Halloween is Satan’s holiday. With this “holiday” coming up I would appreciate any information concerning how to respond to questions such as these. I would also like to thank you guys for your website. It is truly incredible.
Outer Space
Published: September 17, 2006Recently when having an informal bible study with a friend, we had a discussion about man’s attempts to explore space, and how that fits with what the bible tells us about the current, fallen state of man and space for that matter. Should we be poking around “out there”? It’s hard not to look up at the stars and wonder in awe of God, and His creation. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks very much for your site, it continues to be a valuable tool in my studies!
