The Coming Temple

Published: April 23, 2007
Q

I was looking at Hosea 6:2, “After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.” In 2 Pet 3:8, it is written that, “…one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

And from the book of Revelation and the book of Daniel we find that in Bible prophecy a year is 360 day, this too was used in the describing the time of flood in the day of Noah (Genesis 7:11,24; 8:3,4). However, currently we have 365 day/year plus leap year. For approximation, just for the fun of it, and use 365.25 day/year.

Now I interpret Hosea 6:2 as saying 2 day as 2000 years, and we have: 2000 X 360 / 365.25 = 1971.25 years.

Jewish Temple Found?

Published: April 19, 2007
Q

I have read that the sanctuary of the old Jewish temple has been found in excavation work under the dome of the rock, and I had the thought – could this be where the beast will declare himself to be God. Would there be need for a new Jewish temple to be built?

Ezekiel 38 And Armageddon

Published: April 18, 2007
Q

I am confused about the difference between Ezekiel 38 &39 and the war of Armageddon. Some say it is the same thing others say no, they are two different wars. It seems to me they are two different wars. but I’m no scholar. Which is correct?

More On The Three Days And Three Nights

Published: April 13, 2007
Q

Your article concerning the “solution” to the three day and night controversy disregards the eyewitness testimony of the authors in the Bible, all of who agree (including our Lord) that Jesus Christ rose “on” the third day. This is repeated 13 times in one form or another. It also disregards the testimony of Flavius Josephus who was an annual eyewiteness to the Feasts of the Lord in Jerusalem. Jesus Christ was clearly crucified as the Lamb of God, on Nisan 14. If Firstfruits (as it testified to by the feasts of the Lord and Flavius Josephus) was held each year on a Sunday and is the 16th (after the Sabbath as stated by Josephus) then it was, just as the Bible says, a “3rd Day” resurrection. Paul confirms that Christ, our Firstfruits, is risen from the dead.

The Church (regardless of denomination) has been right all along and there is absolutely no need to “fix” Scripture because of the statement of Jesus concerning “three days and three nights” when every other time the Resurrection is mentioned is clearly stated as “on the 3rd day.”

The three day and three night “conflict” you perceive is no conflict at all. It has been long understood in Jewish teaching that any part of a day includes the entire day.

What Is The Documentary Hypothesis?

Q

First, let me thank you for your willingness to be a vessel. My husband got me into your website and it has become part of morning routine to study with you. It has been a real blessing.

As for my question: what is Documentary Hypothesis? You mentioned it in part 12 of the Romans’ study.

Thank you again for sharing all that you have been shown. I’m looking forward to meeting you There!

How Should I Pray?

Published: April 5, 2007
Q

This question has probably been posed before, but could you advise us HOW we are supposed to pray? I hear of people saying they spent hours praying, etc. Well, I don’t have that long of an attention span. Usually, my prayers are ongoing throughout the day whenever I have a moment or I am just contemplating something. I pray every night, but to be honest, I often fall asleep while praying. Is that bad? I don’t think so, but I don’t want to be rude to God!

I know that we are to have a conversation with God and that is my method. When I try to sit down or kneel down and pray for an extended period of time, I lose focus as I get too caught up in the process of praying and therefore, I always think I am doing something wrong. However, as you know, there are some that think we are supposed to dedicate an hour a day, etc. to praying. Is there a Biblical basis to this? If so, HOW are we supposed to pray? If God already knows what we need are we just supposed to spend an hour or two thanking Him over and over again? I don’t want to sound flippant, I am just trying to grow and learn where I can.

Rapture Timing

Published: April 5, 2007
Q

First of all, thank you for your wonderful ministry, and may the Lord bless you.

I’m sorry to submit yet another question on this topic, but I’m very confused. I’ve read a great deal about the interpretation of the word “generation”, and its starting point, e.g. the nation of Israel being restored, and Jerusalem coming under Jewish control for the first time in nearly two thousand years. I’m also mindful of the dates 2018-2037 being mentioned.

My confusion stems from the fact that many pastors, etc, are talking as if the rapture could occur at any moment, even before I finish this question (which would suit me just fine!).

I find it difficult to reconcile a (possible) immediate rapture to those dates (2018-2037) previously mentioned. can you help?

Seeking Forgiveness

Published: April 5, 2007
Q

My sister in law refuses to forgive me for an argument that happened last year. I asked for forgiveness and apologized for what I did wrong, but she has never acknowledged any of her wrong-doing and refuses to speak to me. She has basically cut me out of her life. I was just wondering where do I go from here? I want things to be better and I want reconciliation, but she won’t have anything to do with me. Please help me. I am having a hard time with this.

Becoming God?

Published: April 5, 2007
Q

I am involved in a discussion on what we (born-again believers) will be like after we are raptured into Heaven. The discussion is getting wild and some are suggesting that “we will be like him” to the point of becoming God in the same manner as Jesus Himself. They are quoting verses in the old and new testaments involving the word “glory.” to indicate that we will be exactly like him.

I don’t believe that we are going to become “God” as our Lord Jesus is, can you help?
