Salvation For Demons
Published: April 9, 2008I’ve searched your archives to answer the question as to whether or not demons can be forgiven if they ask for it and I can’t find it.
I was discussing this with an officer at work and he believes that there will be demons that will repent and be saved. I told him there isn’t any biblical reference to this but that most likely they’re more hardened then ever but I don’t know if there is any particular Scripture that addresses this. What do you think?
Sprinkling The Nations
Published: April 8, 2008As I understand, the sprinkling of blood around the temple altar by the old testament priests was a ceremonial preparation for the cleansing of the hearts of all people who would accept Jesus’ sacrifice (a future occurrence) ending the necessity for future sprinkling. (Heb 9:13 & 14).
Jesus did command us to”go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit”. May I please ask if the verses in the Old Testament (IE: Isaiah 52:15) mentioning “sprinkling of many nations has any direct relationship to his command to baptize. and is the temple sprinkling of blood and water baptism for the same purpose? Also is baptism by sprinkling an acceptable practice?
Doing What Is Right Vs. Unjust Governments
Published: April 7, 2008How do we as Christians resolve the conflict of what we know to be right and just according to the bible, Romans 13 vs 1-7 and ruling authority which is not Christian and in some cases antithetical, potentially hostile or down right deadly?
Cases in point, Dr. King’s protests regarding unfair laws and political practices which unfairly discriminated against Blacks in America during the 1960’s. Christians who will be living under the Anti-Christ during the Tribulation.
What Does The Anti-Christ Look Like?
Published: April 5, 2008This is probably a wacky question, but I received an email yesterday that claims the anti Christ will be in his early 40’s. I don’t recall seeing any absolute physical description of this being. Is there any specific description of the anti Christ in scripture except the use of the pronoun “he”?
Birth And Resurrection Dates
Published: April 5, 2008I was wondering why it isn’t common knowledge exactly what dates Jesus was born on, and resurrected on? I find it hard to comprehend how we can’t know the exact dates and years for both of these, when we base our whole current calender on the first (which as I understand is about 4-7 years off), and our eternal destination on the second? Have I missed something, or do you think we aren’t supposed to know the answers for some reason? Thank you so much.
Women In Ministry
Published: April 5, 2008For over 20 years I labored alongside my husband in the ministry. He went home to be with the Lord two years ago. I still feel the call to minister. Being a woman has disqualified me in the eyes of much of the church with the exception of teaching children or other women. Yet my husband and I were “in the trench” workers. We had a church that was an outreach to those on the fringes of society and worked the streets. My burning desire is to continue setting the captives free, praying for the sick, etc. I’ve tried to ignore it, deny it, and run from it. I’ve even asked the Lord to take the desire from me. Yet it continues. Still, there is a voice I hear that tells me I’m a “woman” and that is not my place or role.
I know all the arguments against women ministering. The Bible also tells me that “in Christ, there is neither male nor female – we are all one.” (paraphrased) What do you believe about women ministers?
When Is Lying Not A Sin?
Published: April 5, 2008While discussing the Bible with an Atheist, we were on the topic of sin. I explained how thru Adam, we inherited sin which my Atheist friend had some difficulty with. She felt that there are times when we have no choice but to sin. I asked her to give me an example, this is what she offered.
If a family, during WWII, was to hide a Jewish family from Nazi soldiers, and when asked by those Nazi soldiers if they know of any Jews around, and the family says no, did they lie? Would that be considered a sin since they were protecting the lives of the Jewish family? Would that family have to repent? My Atheist friend thinks this is a good example of a situation where doing the right thing should not be considered a sin, thus, there are gray areas to God’s commandments. How would you respond to this example?
Who Was Chittim?
Published: April 2, 2008I can’t thank you enough for all the help you so generously give to the body of Christ.
Can you identify “Chittim” for me. Seen in several places in the Old Testament, some being Isaiah 23, Jeeremiah 2, Ezekiel 27, and Daniel 11.
Thank you very much for any information or ideas that you have.
How Can He Be Forgiven?
Published: April 1, 2008I understand you can be forgiven of divorcing your spouse but where does that give you permission to remarry when the Bible clearly says that man cannot separate what God has joined together and that if you marry a divorced person you are committing adultery?
Those are only a couple of scripture references, there are plenty more. Years ago people couldn’t even get remarried in the church, only in the courthouse. Do we really think we know so much more and that Bible doesn’t mean what it says? Why does the Bible say adulterers won’t inherit the kingdom? Doesn’t NOT inheriting the kingdom mean you’re going to hell?
My husband left me for a teenage girl only 5 years older than our son. He has not been a father to our son since. The “church” today doesn’t condemn people like that. Everything is forgiven now. What ever happened to the turning the grace of God into licentiousness? The bible says one thing but people say it means another. So you can’t take anything at face value in the Bible?
Fighting Over The Body Of Moses
Published: April 1, 2008In Jude chapter 1 verse 9 it says, “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”I don’t ever remember anyone fighting over Moses’ body or is there a different meaning all together?
