Saved From The Penalty

Q

In response to recent questions and answers about those professing christians who continue in blatant sin. Your answer was regardless of lifestyle as long as they name the name of Christ they will go in the rapture. In Matt. 7 Jesus clearly refutes antinomianism, also the book of 1 John clearly indicates that a christian may sin occasionally but it will no longer continue to be a pattern of life, sin will no longer reign over any born again person. Romans is plain that sin no longer has us in slavery to self indulgence.

Adam, Eve, And Abraham

Q

I am an adult Sunday school teacher with about 40 in the class. We’ve been studying books of the Bible. For 2009, we plan to discuss stories in the Bible, with meaning relative to the time they were written and today. Of course we are using your book and website for reference material.I have 2 questions relating to time lines.

1. What would be the dates for the Garden of Eden? 2. When did Abraham live (2000 BC?)

Disassociation Vs. Condemnation

Q

Thank you for your helpful ministry. I include you in my prayers often, as the Lord lays you upon my heart.

I found as I read your article, “Homosexuals in the Rapture”, that I do not disagree with anything you wrote. I hadn’t really given it much thought, but after reading your article, I have to agree that homosexual Christians will be raptured.

However, I am now confused about how Christians should deal with homosexuals who profess to be Christians because of 1 Cor. 5. I understand that we are not supposed to judge each other, and we’re supposed to be willing to forgive each other, but where is the balance between that and living in such a way as to discourage or show disapproval of consistently sinful behavior that is so extreme?

I realize that most of us have besetting sins of some sort, and we can’t stop fellowshiping with each other over every bad habit, but it seems as though the Bible shows some types of consistently sinful behavior as unacceptable for groups or congregations of Christians to accept. How does 1 Cor. 15:33 work with this?

Worship In The Millennium

Q

Thank you for your work on your website and the thought and study that goes into your articles. I am sure you are instrumental in many coming to faith in Christ and others to grow in the knowledge of Him.

I have a question regarding the life of the Jews in the millennium. According to Ezekiel the Jews will have a Temple and will return to sacrificing animals as they did in the Old Testament. My question is why will they do this and why would God require it for these Jews who were the Elect and accepted Christ as the Messiah before the 2nd Coming? It would seem that their acceptance of Christ’s sacrifice for their sin would be like the tribulation saints and the Church’s which forgave sins both past and future and did not require any more sacrifices. Also, what will the tribulation saints who are alive at the 2nd coming, who enter the Millennium, be doing in regards to worship?

Tis The Season, Follow Up

Q

I just read your article, Tis The Season . 2008 and have a comment.

A member of my family has been in the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization for many years and once used the passage Jeremiah 10:3-4 to accuse the rest of the family as “worshiping” the Christmas tree because he said this passage is describing a Christmas tree. I think that, in context, the passage refers to the people carving a god from the tree, adorning or covering it in gold and silver, and then worshiping it instead of the One True God. I personally do not even have a Christmas tree any longer but I did when I had small children at home. Instead of worshiping it, as soon as the season was over I threw it in the trash.

All of my children are Christians and are faithful to serve our Lord, our God. But they do put up a tree during the holiday season because it is for their young children to enjoy. Personally, I do not believe that Christ was born in December and think that Christmas has gotten way too commercial and out of hand. All of my family feels the same and would not have a problem giving up the Christmas tree and even the giving of gifts to each other. In fact we discussed this year and agreed to not give gifts but to just get together as a large family and have dinner together, enjoying the blessing of being together.

The fact that you used the passage from Jeremiah in connection with Christmas rather than with the worship of idols concerned me.

I’m sending you an article that says our current economic strife is a sign that al Mahdi is coming soon. I was wondering if this article is significant concerning anything that’s happening now in Bible prophecy? Thank you.

Tis The Season, Follow Up

Q

The time of Jesus birth was at the Fall Feast of Tabernacles. ( He tabernacles with us, God with us, His name Emanuel, God with us) Not The Jewish new year. He was born in a booth that was commanded from God that the Jews do during the feast of booths. The table inside the booth that they put the holy bread on is called a manger. (Jesus, bread of life placed on a table, manger) Just wanted you to know so we can more accurately celebrate our Wonderful Lord!

Are UFO’s Mentioned In The Bible?

Published: December 6, 2008
Q

I have a question about UFOs. With all the media coverage lately regarding UFOs, I’m just wondering what your opinion of them is. Does the Bible in anyway allude to UFOs, or discuss them as part of the “endtimes?”

Understand The Signs Of The Times

Q

I wanted to comment on your article about Mr. Obama possibly being the anti Christ. I agree with your article except I want to point out one thing that Christians seem to do that is so wrong and unscriptural. My husband and I came out of 10 years of Jehovah’s witnesses and I am very leary of anyone setting dates. I can’t count how may times I have read articles that mention certain dates as “the one” and those dates have come and gone and we are still here and all we have done is to make people not want to believe anything we have to say. I am born again and have been for a great many years, but I still cringe when I hear some one give a date as to the end, even tho they quickly add that “maybe” or “I could be wrong” or some such thing. I don’t think that these authors realize that there are many baby Christians out there that believe what they read, and then they are disappointed or angry or bewildered when the date passes and nothing happens. Just wanted to put my two cents worth in. We are going home, and only the Lord knows when.
