Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?

Published: March 15, 2009
Q

I just finished reading your article, “Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?, and it left me with two questions. Having been born disabled from Cerebral Palsy, (I’m now 64 years old) if I say, think, or feel, “Hey, I didn’t deserve to be born with this disability”, am I not questioning God’s Fairness and Justice as Job did? If, however, I ask, “Why was I born in this fashion?, am I instead seeking to know God’s Purpose in allowing such to happen?

By the way, the only Biblical passage that seems to address my “why” question is in the Gospel of John, 9:1 – 7

Are Our Rapture Bodies Real?

Published: March 15, 2009
Q

This may be a stupid question, but it is one that I have thought about ever since reading the “Left Behind” series. The authors describe the rapture occurring, and then people’s bodies (their literal ones, not spiritual) basically disappear from the planet, causing chaos. Their clothes, braces, glasses, etc. are left in their place.

This viewpoint sparked my interest. When the rapture does come, how will we meet the “Lord in the air?” Will our spirits be removed from our bodies and then our earth bodies just drop dead? Or will our earthly as well a spiritual bodies just disappear? I don’t know if the Bible says anything about this, or if I’m just being ignorant. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Will My Children Be Raptured with Me?

Published: March 14, 2009
Q

I was wondering if you could provide any Biblical basis to the idea children will be taken away during the rapture. I am saved, and have two sons, 6 and 7 years old. I truly believe we Christians will not be here to see the next presidential election due to the rapture occurring. I am concerned about my sons being left behind, and being unable to fend for themselves during the ensuing inevitable hell on Earth. I have heard others speak of a theory of children being taken to heaven along with adult believers, but I can not find anything about this in the Word. Any ideas? thank you in advance.

Heaven Or New Jerusalem?

Published: March 14, 2009
Q

Can you explain who will be in heaven and who will be in the New Jerusalem? From what I have read it seems to me like the rapture happens, we are taken to heaven and then after the tribulation we go to the New Jerusalem for 1,000 years. And then what after the 1,000 years? Will we ever go back to heaven?

Ezekiel 38 And Revelation 20

Q

I have a question about the battle of Gog and Magog described in Ezekiel 38. Why does everyone believe that this battle must occur before the Great Tribulation, when Revelation 20:7-9 clearly places it after the thousand years.

What About Enoch?

Q

I absolutely respect your knowledge of spiritual beliefs when it comes to the Bible etc. Will you on record tell us who follow your site, tell us is Enoch a TRUE Prophet of God? And should the book of Enoch never of been taken out of the Bible?

Where’s The Sudden Event?

Published: March 12, 2009
Q

I’m confused about the Day of the Lord. In an answer to one of my questions you said that the Day of the Lord is the Great Tribulation. But 1 Thess.5:2,3 says that “the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night” and brings sudden destruction upon all those who are saying “Peace and safety;” at the day of the Lord’s onset. If it is the whole world that is saying peace and safety and the day of the Lord starts with the beginning of the Great Tribulation, then what event at the beginning of the Great Tribulation brings on this sudden destruction?

The devil’s initial wrath is focused against Israel and Christians. The first vial (bowl) judgment is a foul and loathsome sore. Also, at this time, all those that dwell on the earth are rejoicing, making merry and sending gifts one to another because the two witnesses are dead. I don’t see an event at the beginning of the Great Tribulation that would bring sudden destruction on those saying peace and safety, which seems to be a qualification for the start of the day of the Lord, according to 1Thess.5:2,3. What am I missing?

Could David Wilkerson Be right?

Re: Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe – Best-selling author, Teen Challenge founder, sees ‘earth-shattering calamity about to happen’

A respected pastor, best-selling author and founder of a major ministry to teens predicts an imminent “an earth-shattering calamity” centered in New York City that will spread to major urban areas across the country and around the world – part of what he sees as a judgment from God.

I am confused, does God use people to prophecy like this today? Could David Wilkerson be right?

Is Bankruptcy A Sin?

If a Christian is in dire straits financially, is it a sin to get a fresh start by bankruptcy as long as he or she did not purposely rack it all up with that as a goal?

BC And AD

If B.C. is before Christ and A.D. is after the death of Christ, then what do we call the 33 years he was alive? Thank you. You are blessed to have God work through you in this way.
