Matt. 16:18 says the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church. And yet we see that the anti-Christ will prevail against the tribulation saints.

Christians have been killed for the last 2000 years and trib saints will be killed during Daniels 70th week, so it seems that the words “will prevail against the saints” is not to mean prevailed by physical death. So what is really meant by, the anti-christ will prevail against the saints? What would the difference be between the bride and trib saints pertaining to the word “Prevail”?

Please consider I Corinthians 7:14 in your discussion of this topic. It seems to indicate here that children belonging to unbelievers are unclean. Children who have a believing parent seem to have a different status than children who don’t. I realize that our salvation is based on what Jesus did, not on what our parents do and that each person is responsible for their own decision to serve or not serve God.

However in a discussion of “innocent” children before the age of accountability, I have this question: Are they saved from the wrath to come, the tribulation? In the Old Testament judgment came upon “unclean” nations and the children were not saved from destruction. (I think they were not judged and sent to hell upon death, but it doesn’t look like God saved them from judgment upon the earth)

I have been a children’s pastor for over twenty years and have worked diligently to bring young ones to the Lord, not knowing when the age of accountability might be for each of them. I can believe that the innocent will not see eternal judgment upon death, but I think that is a separate issue from the issue of being in the rapture. I have always believed that the innocent children of believing parents would go in the rapture, but that the children of unbelievers would probably have to go thru the tribulation. Any thoughts?

You stated in an answer to someone else that when we get to heaven, we will be able to appear and disappear at will and that we will be able to travel at the speed of thought. This sounds wonderful, a fantastic game of hide and seek.

Does it say somewhere in the Bible about these abilities we will have or is this your perception based on other abilities that it talks about?

My questions is about the Rapture and how it will be viewed by believers who go and unbelievers who stay. In 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Paul states that at the moment of the Rapture there will be a loud shout, the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God and then the dead in Christ will rise followed by those believers who remain alive at the Rapture. In 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 it states that it will all be in the twinkling of an eye.

Will we who are taken in the Rapture have time during the shout, the voice and the trumpet to realize what is happening for a short time (seconds) then be taken in the twinkling of an eye or will it all happen so fast that it is just a twinkling of an eye and we will not realize it but be instantaneously with Christ in Heaven? At the Rapture will the unsaved hear the shout, the voice of the archangel and the trumpet or will they just notice that many of us are gone?

Q.There’s no way to know for sure, but I believe we’ll be here on Earth with no awareness that it’s about to happen in one instant and and in the next one we’ll be in the presence of the Lord. If unbelievers hear anything at all it won’t be sufficient for them to connect it to our disappearance.

Rev. 13:5-6 says, “The beast (anti-Christ) was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. He opened His mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.”

We can understand that he will blaspheme God and even His dwelling place, but why would he bother blaspheming those who dwell in Heaven unless he was referring to the departed Church? People will be wondering what happened and he won’t be able to tell them the truth, so he will have to invent a story that makes us look like evil beings who were thwarting his plan for world peace and had to be sup

Do you think that believers may have to go through a christian holocaust – similar to the Jews before the rapture? There is so much talk about the “camps” that are being set up in our country and of course the government getting bigger and controlling more? I have a handicapped little boy and I trust in God, but at the same time I am scared. I read scripture everyday and I pray that God will strengthen me in his word. Yet I find I have fear when I think of my son. I have cried to the Lord for strength and wisdom as he is all I can trust. I hope my faith is strong and that I will trust to the end – but this is so scary and I believe it could happen in the future. Any thoughts?

In our weekly Bible study, a discussion arose about the cleansing of the temple by Jesus. One of the individuals in the study said that there are two separate instances where Jesus cleanses the temple. He sited the synoptic gospels as one account, and John’s as a separate account. Is there only one time when Jesus cleansed the temple or were there two? If there is only one, how do I explain to my brother they are all the same account?

I have written before regarding the fact that I am unequally yoked–my husband is Jewish–because several issues have come up that I really needed guidance on, and your answers have been very helpful. This current issue is no exception, but it’s not so much a spiritual question as a practical one with a spiritual basis.

I know the rapture is coming. I have told my husband so repeatedly, and he just smiles and nods. In one particularly memorable recent conversation I finally just came out and told him that the reason it is so important to me that he know about these things is that I do believe the rapture is coming and I equally believe that he and his extended family are lost–that it breaks my heart to think of them enduring the Tribulation and their ultimate destination unless they accept Jesus as the Messiah. Can’t say that went over really well–and of course he thinks I’m judging him.

I can do no more in that regard, which, as a wife, makes me feel very helpless sometimes. All I can think to do is to try to make the coming Tribulation a little easier for him to survive physically, and I find myself wanting to stock-pile some basic necessities and some emergency provisions for him and his family. I know that God will take care of our here and now needs–none of the things I want to collect for him are for now. It is the only action I feel that is available to me–and in my human need to care for him, I can think of nothing else to do besides pray.

Am I wrong to feel this way? I don’t think I’m doing anything un-biblical, am I? What else, if anything, can you recommend? My heart aches for them in ways I cannot describe.

I am increasingly aware of the pressure on Israel from Islamists and their so-called supporters, especially over the recent (and ongoing) crisis in Palestine.

My problem lies here. I know that it is right that Israel should not bow to the manipulation and aggression of her enemies, but how, as Christians, do we reconcile this with the scripture in Romans 12, which tells us to love our enemies and be kind to those who hurt us. To not repay evil with evil, but defeat it by doing good. Thank you for your wisdom.

I was just wondering what your opinion is on this Gospel of Judas that has mysteriously shown up recently. I know Paul says not to accept any Gospel other than the one he preached. I really don’t believe this Gospel of Judas is true and I’m very suspicious of it since it apparently was written by gnostics. I would love to know your “take” on it.
