Old Testament Saints In The Millennium
Published: June 1, 2009I was just reading your recent post titled “Will David Be King Again?”. In it, you stated that you believe that a descendant of David’s (not David himself) will rule over Israel during the Millennium (under the authority of Jesus, the King) because he has to offer a sin offering for himself on Passover and on Tabernacles. This got me to thinking; “What will be the role of the OT Saints during the Millennium?”.
I guess I’m a little unclear on what exactly the resurrected OT Saints will be doing, as opposed to the Church during that time. Both will have their resurrection bodies. I assume that this means that the OT Saints will also have access to the New Jerusalem…? And, since Kingdom law will be in effect at that time, how does that pertain to the resurrected OT Saints?
Damascus’ Date With Destruction
Published: May 29, 2009Is there a specific Agricultural season mentioned as to the timing of the Destruction of Damascus? “It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain.” Is that the Bible’s way of making a General statement about Harvesting or can we take that literally to be when the wheat is actually harvested in Israel?
Anti-Christ’s Origin?
Published: May 28, 2009Rev. 2:13 says
I know where you live–where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city–where Satan lives.
Could this verse possibly give us a clue as to where the anti-christ comes from, “where satan’s throne is” and “where satan lives” ?
Rapture On Pentecost?
Published: May 25, 2009I am wondering … what else has to happen before the Lord returns? I waffled back and forth between pre and mid for many years and now that I feel like I have a solid belief in pre-trib, I am wondering what prophecies still need to be fulfilled, if any. My daughter keeps mentioning something about a red heifer, but I am not sure where that comes into play.
I have read much about Pentecost on your site and am wondering if it is possible for His return on this Pentecost, May 31, or does that not give enough time if something still needs to be fulfilled. I find myself completely absorbed in thinking and longing for His return, and almost feel like I wont be able to bear it on June 1st. How does one balance longing for him and keeping on in this lifetime.
I feel like I am holding my breath waiting for the moment when with one blink I close my eyes here, and open them in heaven. Will it happen that fast?? Sorry, I am just truly longing to go home.
Captives Or Participants
Published: May 24, 2009Are the wicked people of this world “captives” of the devil and sin (unfortunate victims of the devil) that only need to be set free ….. or sons of the devil who actively and willingly “want to carry out [their] father’s desire” (willing participants rather than victims) who “belong to their father the devil” and therefore as sons/daughters have a place in his (devil’s) family?
Location Of The Ark Of The Covenant
Published: May 24, 2009On TV recently, (a well known author) indicated that the Ark has been moved to Israel from Ethiopia and will be present in the Third Temple.
You and I both believe the Ark is lost and will never be recovered because its presence is never mentioned again. Would you comment, please.
Contemporary Music
Published: May 24, 2009I have been a member of my Southern Baptist Church for 18 years since moving away from my hometown. Over the years, we have grown from 700 to now averaging around 3500. We have two worship services , one traditional with some mix of traditional and praise hymns. The second service is contemporary complete with band which includes electric guitars, drums, bass etc. I grew up loving Clapton, Alman Bros, etc. So its not that I do not like rock music. My question is concerning Contemporary Worship.
Yesterday I went to the contemporary service because my daughter is a Senior in highschool and was being recognized during the service. When the service started, I felt repulsed. It was so loud and the words seemed repetitive and grew louder. The music vibrated thru my bones. I felt like I was at a rock concert only I was in church. I know that some large churches are moving toward a more contemporary style to invite more people to come. I get it, but I am not sure it’s hitting the mark I have set as a standard most of my life. Can you offer any study for me, or help me know what God says. I have read much about worship, but this loud rock music style in church concerns me.
Is There Any Hope For My Mother?
Published: May 23, 2009My mother had a 13 year affair with my husband. Needless to say my marriage was over. My Daddy would not believe she did anything wrong, because that is what she told him. He had a nervous break down and died young of heart problems.
Mother was telling me she had done nothing wrong and would not admit to the truth. I called our pastor to come to her house so she could tell him what she had been telling us. She told him “I have done nothing wrong.” He asked, “Her to explain to him how she could commit adultery and not feel bad about it.” She replied, “On my way to meet him I asked God to forgive me. Afterward I would repent for what I had done wrong, so I have not committed any sin.” The pastor, told her that if she believed she had not done anything wrong she had been turned over to a reprobate mind. She started crying and saying, “there is no hope for me.”
She has had an affair with one of the pastors of the local church, with one of the deacons and then again with another family member and this is what we know of. She has never show any remorse, it has been just as if “Oh well.” I am so wanting to find some kind of fruit of repentance. She is in her late 70’s and is conniving and deceptive, lies is just mean to her daughters and causes confusion.
Question: Can you give me any hope?
Destroying The Temple Mount
Published: May 23, 2009Your explanation concerning the destruction of the Temple Mount when the Mount of Olives is divided makes perfect sense. All the pieces of the puzzle fit together and the river flowing from the south side of the Temple into the valley makes it impossible for the puzzle to be resolved in any other way.
Yet, I don’t see any other teacher of prophecy arriving at a similar conclusion. They all talk about the Third Temple being on Temple Mount (although they stumble at what to do with the Muslim structures and the river flowing from the south side of the Temple (which they do not so much as mention).
So, I have to ask — Scripture is so clear, so explicit, how is it that only you interpret the plain words in that way? Are there not any other teachers who have arrived at the same conclusions?
What about the geology of the Jerusalem area? I have read that there is a clearly visible fault line across the Olivet from east to west, and I understand that it is part of the African Rift Valley. It should be apparent, or discoverable, as it runs across Jerusalem north of Temple Mount toward the Sea. So, where are the other witnesses of this clear phenomenon?
Explaining Our Absence
Published: May 23, 2009Many books and films have been created detailing what life might be like after the Rapture has occurred, and what explanations could be advanced for the disappearance of millions of people worldwide.
Apparently, the opponents of the Hadron Collider feared that this device would create a massive black hole which would destroy everything and everybody. Supposing they activated this device and the Rapture took place. The explanation might be that instead of creating one huge black hole, it created millions of mini black holes at random all over the earth. Those who were “taken” happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I understand that this device is planned for activation this Fall. Any thoughts?
