The Iniquity Of The Fathers, Follow Up
Published: July 23, 2009We continue to be blessed each day as you share the nourishment of God’s word with us. My latest question has to do with your recent post (Visiting The Iniquity Of The Fathers Upon The Children) where you say “Some even believe the sin nature is passed through the father only, which is why Jesus could have a human mother but not possess a sin nature.” I have never heard this before. Do you believe this? If so what scripture may refer to this belief?
Guardian Angels
Published: July 23, 2009When a baby stares fixedly at a corner of the room, my mother-in-law always said a tiny infant was looking at his Guardian Angel, whom he could see clearly. Who knows? Wasn’t Elijah’s servant allowed to see the Host of Heaven arrayed for battle?
Of late, and when I remember to do it, I have taken to asking God to send an angel to watch over me when I find I am being distracted in prayer or reading scripture. It seems to work. Placebo effect?
Do all Christians, even adults, have a Guardian Angel? What does scripture say about it? I need all the help I can get.
Will The 3rd Temple Be Holy In God’s Sight?
Published: July 19, 2009The Sanhedrin has been recreated in Israel; the Temple Institute has made/is making Temple implements, priestly garments etc., all for the building of the Third Temple, and restoration of Temple Worship during the Tribulation. The Jews will believe it to be a valid, “real” Temple and their rites to be genuine — up to the time of the Abomination.
What does Scripture suggest will be God’s reaction/response be to Temple rituals performed in good faith by the Jews prior to the Abomination? Will He honor the sacrifices, etc. in any way? Will He indicate displeasure or rejection of the sacrifices in any way?
Simon The Sorcerer
Published: July 17, 2009I am pleased to find your website. I have had a question for some time and haven’t found an answer yet. perhaps you can help. I was reading Acts 8 about Simon the Sorcerer becoming a believer & following Philip (v. 13). I believe in the grace of God as our only foundation for salvation; most of the time I understand how I have previously misinterpreted verses. But I do not understand verses 20-24 in the light of unconditional eternal salvation. Either Simon wasn’t a believer or salvation is dependent on confession of individual sins- as in simons case. Please shed light on this for me.
OSAS The Whole Story, Follow Up
Published: July 17, 2009I use many of your topical studies for lessons at one of our state prisons. Right now, I am taking them through the topic study “OSAS The Whole Story”. I understand that all gifts are free, unearned and cannot be lost. Can I then assume that all prizes, crowns, and rewards are subject to “testing by fire”, as found in 1st Corinthians 3:13-15? Also, are Fellowship and Relationship the same or different?
Your lessons are a God send to my Ministry. I praise God for sending you to help the many folks that seek your help.
Understanding Mark 14:25
Published: July 16, 2009Thanks again for your devotion to the our Lord. My men’s bible study is studying the book of Mark. I sent your link site to our teacher and he is using all your mp3’s to guide him in our studies. We start chapter 14 next week and I’m sorry to say we are a step ahead of your mp3 down loads on this site.
My question is In Mark 14: 25 what did Jesus mean when he said I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God?
The New Jerusalem?
Published: July 16, 2009Thank you for taking time to answer questions and working so hard with your website! I have something I have been wondering about: when you say that the new city of Jerusalem will probably orbit just above the earth, what scriptures can you find to show this point of view? I can remember one about John saying that the city came down from heaven but he never said that it landed on earth. Can you help me find some more please?
Forgiveness
Published: July 15, 2009I have a question regarding forgiveness. Is there a reference in the bible that tells us that we are not to forgive a believer that is backsliding until he/she first repents? What does the Bible say about forgiveness and a backslider? How are we to treat them?
Also, if a member of the church falls deeply into sin, is it to be announced to the whole church that they are in sin, and that they refuse to repent? I have been hearing things like this recently at church and I am not sure that I completely agree with my pastors idea on the subject.
Saving Gentiles After The Rapture
Published: July 15, 2009I agree with you that after the cross God divided humanity into 3 parts: 1) Jews, God’s chosen, “earthly” people 2) The Church, Bride of Christ, “heavenly” people and 3) Gentiles, unbelievers, the ungodly. Prior to Pentecost all Gentiles were without Christ, aliens and strangers, afar off and without God in this world (Eph 2:11,12,17). Then the “pause” for the Church. After the Church is raptured, God will then turn his attention back to the Jews. There will be Gentiles at that time, but won’t they again be without Christ, aliens and strangers, afar off and without God in this world?
You state in your entry posted April 13, 2009 No Salvation After The Rapture? that Acts 15:13-18 confirms that Gentiles will be saved throughout the Great Tribulation. When I read verse 15 I understand it to be Jesus returning at the 2nd Coming and building the tabernacle of David for He states that “I” will build again the ruins thereof, and “I” will set it up. This has to be the Millennium and not the Tribulation.
A Partial Rapture In Rev. 2-3?
Published: July 14, 2009When you say there is nothing in the Bible that supports a partial rapture, my mind is drawn to the messages given to the seven churches of Revelation 2-3. With the exception of a couple, most of the churches were doing just fine, although the church of Philadelphia is the only one that receives no correction. They are also the only ones promised to be spared from the time of wrath.
Although I know the seven churches represent churches that literally existed at the time as well as prophetic throughout the church age, pretty much modern Christians can be classified into the seven descriptions of those churches. Is it possible the letters to the churches pertain to what you are saying here and that only the ‘Philadelphia style’ Christians go while the rest of the Christians stay behind?
Thanks for your time if you can reply! Also, what about the virgins when some were taken but some were left behind?
