Believing In God, Saved By Jesus. Not The Same
Published: March 23, 2018Your response to the man who asked about the salvation of one who has never heard of Jesus begs the question.
You wrote that God puts an awareness of “His eternal power and Godhead” in the mind and heart of all His creation, which I believe.
But that is not the same as the, can we say, “technical” aspect that salvation comes only through belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Son of God, whose blood pays the penalty for our sins, which I also believe.
Thus, a wild man of Borneo may know of God and, after his fashion, worship Him as Creator, but still not know, having never heard, that God came to earth in the person of Jesus, lived a perfect life, and shed his blood that all who believe this and come to him will be saved.
How can he know “without a teacher?”
That, I think, is the man’s question, and mine as well. Will the “wild man” who believes in God, but who never heard of Jesus and who, thus, is unable to come to Him, be damned?
God Dwelt Among Them
Published: March 23, 2018While reading your 7 Things book I came across this statement. “For 2600 years, with the exception of one 33 year period, God will have been absent from the planet leaving man to fend for himself.” How did you arrive at the 2600 year figure? What about the other 3400 years since the Creation? Hasn’t the Holy Spirit always been here?
Confused
Published: March 22, 2018I was reading the admonitions in the Bible to avoid believers who are sexually immoral, or who regularly eat or drink to excess, practice idolatry or greed, are swindlers, foul mouthed, gossipers, or verbally abusive (1 Cor 5:11, Ephe 4:29). In this way we help them see that such behavior is sin. I’m very confused by this passage.
What Is The Sign Of Jonah?
Published: March 22, 2018“A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them, and departed.” Matthew 16:4. For as Jonah was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.” Luke 11:30.
Can you give me an explanation of what exactly is the Sign of Jonah?
When Is Satan’s Expulsion?
Published: March 22, 2018I wish to thank you all involved with Grace Thru Faith. It is the best Bible-based website going. My question brings up something you’ve covered before. I think you said Satan will be exiled from heaven during the Trib. My grandson believes he was exiled from heaven at the time of Adam and Eve. Please clarify.
The Laborers In The Vineyard
Published: March 21, 2018My question this morning has to do with the parable in Matthew 20:1-16, the Laborers in the Vineyard. Mathew 20:16 says “So the last shall be first, and the first last.” Is this talking about the Gentiles being accepted first, then the Jews into the Kingdom of God?
Satan’s Fall And The Creation
Published: March 21, 2018In one of your articles you said you believe Satan’s fall occurred between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, causing a judgment that ruined Earth, and the six day creation account really begins in Genesis 1:3. But in Exodus 20:11 God said He made the heavens and the Earth, the sea and all that’s in them in six days. It looks to me like this contradicts your opinion. Would you care to explain this?
Does God Heal Gradually?
Published: March 21, 2018I have a friend who believes that you should not speak with your mouth that you are sick or have a problem because that confirms it and it will be so. She says to pray for healing and start saying that you are well even though the symptoms are still there. She says that it may take a few days for the healing to take place but that God will heal you if you have faith and continue to claim the healing. I always think of God healing someone instantly and completely not over a period of time. I am wrong in my thinking? Does God sometimes heal gradually?
His Mercies Are New Every Morning
Published: March 20, 2018Recently I re-dedicated myself to the Lord. I grew so weary and heartbroken because of my addiction to a particular sin. One moment, I decided I had enough and got rid of every enabling piece of my addiction, and prayed and fasted for the Lord to deliver me from this addiction once and for all. Two days later, I found myself repeating the same dreaded sin. My question is, how long will it take for the Lord to deliver me? Will it take very long, or could it just miraculously happen overnight? Is there any way of telling at all?
Reacting To Sinners
Published: March 20, 2018How do you think we’ll react to sin during the Millennium? We’ll be in our glorified bodies in the New Jerusalem, but we’ll have access to Earth. The Earth will have sinners, at least after the 1st generation has babies and they grow up. Some of them may be our loved ones. Do you think we’ll avoid sinners?
