The Samaritan Temple

Published: May 12, 2010
Q

When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well , she tried to “side-track” the conversation with a question about where people should worship (John 4:19-20). She said “Our fathers worshiped on ‘this’ mountain…..”. Can you tell me the name of the mountain to which she was referring?

Who Is The Multitude Of Rev. 7?

Published: May 11, 2010
Q

In Rev Chapter 7 verse it talks of the “great multitude that can’t be numbered. Earlier in the book it mentions the angels, beasts and elders who numbered 10,000 times 10,000 and thousands and thousands. This comes out to be more than 1000,000,000, and they are numbered so this “great multitude” must far exceed that number. Also the martyrs are already mentioned in the 5th seal. So who are these great multitudes?

Since they all show up here at this point in time they can’t all be the tribulation saints, or can they? It seems to me that the tribulation saints will come in throughout the tribulation period. They can’t be the martyrs they have already been spoken of. So who are these?

Moses And The Number 40

Published: May 11, 2010
Q

I have 2 questions. First I noticed the #40 mentioned several time in the Bible and that Moses spent 40 days on Mt. Sinai two different times. I remember that Moses was 40 yrs. old when he killed the Egyptian and after the next 40 years, God called him to go back to Egypt and tell Pharaoh that Israel’s God told him to release the Israelites so they could go into the wilderness to worship their God. Another time, Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days. Just wondering if there is a special significance to the #40.

My second questions is: After Moses had gone up to Mt. Sinai many times to meet with God, why did his face shine radiantly when he returned to the camp with the second set of stone tablets with the Ten Commandments written by the hand of God? Why was this time more significant that all the other times?

Demonstrating God’s Power

Published: May 10, 2010
Q

What books of the Bible are best to read if I want to become more in awe of God and His power? I know that almost every book of the Bible has God demonstrating His power in one way or another, but are there any books in particular you would recommend for me to start with?

Will We Have To Visit The Unsaved Dead?

Published: May 10, 2010
Q

I recently heard a well known evangelist comment that Isaiah 66:22-24 was evidence believers in heaven would take an “annual tour” to observe unbelievers in hell. When asked “for what purpose” he explained (paraphrased) so that we might appreciate how blessed we are to enjoy God’s favor in heaven. Since we are told there would be no more tears or sadness in heaven this explanation does not seem reasonable. I certainly would not be happy or consoled to see those suffering in hell especially if some of those suffering were known to me – and as an “annual event”?. What is your take on this scripture?

Did The Jews Understand?

Published: May 9, 2010
Q

I enjoy your site very much, thank you for what you do! If gentiles hear the message of salvation but don’t accept it because they don’t understand it then we believe they will get another chance during the tribulation. But if they hear it and reject it, they won’t. What about the Jews?

If they are truly Jewish then you assume they understand the concept of the redeemer even though they don’t believe it is Jesus, right? Yet there will be 144,000 of them chosen after the rapture to be witnesses. So, since gentiles who hear the message and deny it will not get a second chance after the rapture then why will the Jews? Am I totally misguided in this area?

Why Isn’t My Business Prosperous?

Q

What could be the possible causes for a lack of prosperity in a Christian’s business? Just a list with any Scriptural reference would be sufficient to help me search the answers in the Bible myself.

Who Is The Prince Of This World?

Published: May 8, 2010
Q

In John 14:3 Jesus was speaking with his disciples about going to the Father. This is my question: The prince that He is referring to that is coming, would that be Satan or the anti-Christ? Was not Satan already there?

Dating The Rapture? Follow Up

Published: May 7, 2010
Q

I wanted to point out something on your site that isn’t Biblical and is wrong to tell God’s Church. You have a post called “Dating the Rapture” and it says in the Answer area that you think the Second Coming will happen in 2018. That is date setting and is wrong. You cannot put a date on Jesus Christ. “No one knows the day nor hour”. Also, Matthew 24 was written to the Jews and Luke 21 to the Gentiles. Matthew’s account will be a survival book for the Jews during the Tribulation. “This generation” refers to the generation during the Tribulation, the generation of Jews. Please correct what you have because it is wrong and not biblical.

More On The Parable Of The 10 Virgins

Published: May 7, 2010
Q

Re: The parable of the 10 virgins. At the risk of beating an issue to death I have question about this parable. In reading different Bible translations for Matt. 25:10 sometimes marriage is used and others wedding banquet or wedding feast. I am a bit confused since going to the marriage is completely different than going to the feast. One way indicates the marriage is still to be and the feast indicates the marriage has taken place. In my view that changes the meaning quite a bit. If the “marriage” is a reference to the rapture this parable could be about that. If “feast” is used your view of this parable describing end of tribulation events makes more sense. Can you enlighten me as to the more correct translation?
