Which Religion Came First?

Published: January 16, 2011
Q

I have a question that a friend of mine is arguing with me about. Which religion came first? I say it’s Judaism, followed by Christianity, and he says it’s Hinduism, followed by Judaism. Can you explain to me which religion came first and subsequently followed, and how they came about? Thank you.

Will Jesus Have Time For Us?

Published: January 15, 2011
Q

We have a question concerning how much we will be in the physical presence of Jesus after the Resurrection, in the Millennium. I say that there is only one Jesus who has a physical body and that that he can only be physically in one place at one time. My wife says, nonsense, He can do anything he wants and be physically present in many places.

I also maintain that the Lord will be very busy ruling planet Earth and won’t have time for sort of thing that some of the hymns talk about–walking and talking with Him one on one, physically. I say that it will be possible to see Him, but that will be most likely great convocations. He of course will be available by prayer in spirit, but will probably be spending most of His time with the rulers and great saints of yesteryear and today.

Are The Four Horsemen Already Here?

Published: January 15, 2011
Q

I have always agreed with your interpretation of the Seal Judgments in Revelation, but lately I’m wondering if we may be seeing them opened, with what’s going on in the world as we read this. The rider on the white horse could be the rise of radical Islam, as it has all but taken over much of Europe, Asia, and Africa; the red horse, signifying war, is becoming apparent; the black horse, representing famine, is emerging with increasing global food shortages, riots, and starvation; the pale horse, signifying death by disease, is on the horizon, with the emergence of countless super-bugs, and plagues. But I ask myself: what of the Rapture? Is it possible that we may have misinterpreted scripture? I realize we could be just seeing a foretaste of what is to come, but I can’t help but wonder. I covet your thoughts, please.

Is God Shutting Me Out?

Published: January 14, 2011
Q

I am a working mother of 1 and planning on having another baby. When my daughter was born I felt like God wanted me to stay home but my decision to quit dragged on and on because every time I was about to quit something would happen to keep me from quitting. About a year ago I felt like God was telling me that if I am faithful and take care of my family then He will take care of my husband’s promotion. Well, when I was preparing to quit my husband changed his mind because he wants to get the promotion first before I quit. After applying for at least 10 positions now he still hasn’t gotten any promotion.

I keep wondering if our disobedience and lack of faith brought this on. I am scared of being “just a stay at home mom” but at the same time I’m not happy being a working mother. I am so unhappy that I constantly lose control of my emotions at home. I pray and read the bible but I feel like God is shutting me out.

The Lampstand And The Lamp

Published: January 14, 2011
Q

Some believe that the Church will have been raptured by the beginning of Revelation 4. In Revelation 1:20 it describes the Seven Lampstands as being the Seven Churches. Then Chapter 4 mentions that there are Seven Lampstands with burning flames present in front of the Throne and that they are the Seven Spirits of God. The Seven Lampstands are first described as The Seven Churches and then we are told that they are The Seven Spirits of God. Can you explain these things?

Four Hundred Years Or Four Generations?

Published: January 13, 2011
Q

I have always understood that a generation was 70 years as shown in Psalms 90:10 and Isaiah 23:15. But during my reading of the bible I came across a couple of verses in Genesis 15:13-16. It tells in verse 13 of Abram’s descendants being enslaved for four hundred (400) years and in verse 16 it refers to Abram’s descendants will come back in the fourth (4) generation. I take this to mean that a generation is 100 years. Is my thinking correct?

Kicking People When They’re Down

Published: January 13, 2011
Q

I was checking my Facebook recently and discovered that my sister’s boyfriend (they’re both in their 50’s) posted a video of Christian Music personalities who’ve been caught in sin. I must admit it was a shock to see this, and left me at a loss for words. I know there are tons of “Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven” cliche’s, but with the times being what they are, I guess I’m looking for more meat in response to all this.

Are People That Blind?

Published: January 13, 2011
Q

I’ve read your comments about reading Matthew 24 in chronological order, and I understand what you are saying. However, I have a hard time with people living life without a clue that the world is about to end after all the events of the tribulation/great tribulation. Are the events literal? Blood up to the horses bridles? The two witnesses, etc. I just can’t wrap my brain around people being that blind.

As It Was In The Days Of Noah

Published: January 12, 2011
Q

I have always thought that Matt 24:37 referred to the period of time just before the Rapture, that things will be pretty much business as usual then we are raptured out of here. From what I understand from your teaching you believe it refers to the time just before the second coming not before the Rapture. It doesn’t seem to me that things will appear “normal” to people at the end of the tribulation but they could be that way before the Rapture, like now for instance. If what you are suggesting is accurate it messes up a lot of Rapture timing theory don’t you think”? Did I get something out of context here?

The Seven Churches Chronology

Published: January 12, 2011
Q

I have read about the seven Churches and that we are at this point in history considered the Church of Laodicea. Beginning with the first Church, Ephesus, what was it’s length of time and also the the length of time of the rest of the Churches leading up to present. I am curious to know the average length of time for each of these seven Churches.
