Daniel’s 70 Weeks Revisited
Published: February 16, 2011If as Dan. 9:25 reveals that it would be 69 Weeks or 483 years until the Messiah would arrive, and as many suggest it was Palm Sunday (the Triumphal Entry), and if therefore the Messiah was then Crucified on Thursday or Friday, you decide, then how do you account for the miscellaneous additional 4-5 days beyond Palm Sunday? Are you suggesting that God ‘approximated’ the prophetic Crucifixion of His Only Begotten Son, Yeshua Jesus? And did the Temple system and the Mosaic Law come to an ‘official’ end at that point, even though the Temple stood thirty some odd years afterwards?
Explaining The Different Translations
Published: February 12, 2011I love God’s word and have several versions I read. (KJV, NASB & NIV). My son was recently saved and I gave him an NIV version. I grew up on the KJV & have memorized many passages from it. It is beautiful but sometimes a little difficult.
My pastor only condones KJV in our little church and states that he feels that the encroachment of the newer versions is just Satan’s way of causing more division among God’s people. And that the newer versions were taken from more recently discovered and less reliable Greek translations.
I respect his view but watch carefully for any gross distortions and so far feel comfortable enough with all the versions. Please help clarify this more for me … especially the Greek translations he has spoken about. Thank you so much for your ministry.
Is This A Proper Use Of My Tithe?
Published: February 10, 2011I have been helping to financially support several family members for the past few years with cash gifts towards their food, clothing, medicine, auto repairs, household goods, vacation money and other expenses. During this time I have not tithed my 10% but have made small donations when attending church. I have been considering my financial support to family members as my tithe, keeping in mind that instead of my tithe going to a church organization for their distribution, I am giving it directly to those in need. Is this Biblically correct or is this not considered proper tithing?
Carrying The Ark Of The Covenant
Published: February 8, 2011Recently at a Bible study I attend it was mentioned that the Ark of the Covenant was a very heavy object and that it required supernatural strength in order for the four men to carry it between them on the poles. I did some research online and have come up with calculated weights for it ranging from 188 lbs up to 4000 lbs, needless to say that is quite a discrepancy. My question is, do you think that it actually was heavy enough that God had to provide the carriers with increased strength in order to transport it?
Are God And Allah The Same? Follow Up
Published: February 8, 2011Your answer to this question was accurate except you made the statement that God does beget and the Son was begotten. This is incorrect. The Son, as spoken in the book of John, has always existed as part of the Trinity. The word “begotten” should more accurately be translated as “unique” or “One of a kind”. I know you didn’t mean to state that Christ was begotten by the Father but you left that impression. This is the same mistake that a lot of people make, thinking Christ didn’t exist until He became flesh.
Al Mahdi And The Pale Horse
Published: February 8, 2011It seemed to me that the Mahdi had been sighted in Egypt during the riots. Some referred to it as the pale rider of the apocalypse, but I believe it was a sighting of the Mahdi–whether real or contrived, I cannot say. There are many reports of interesting phenomenon appearing (lying signs and wonders?) in the times we are living in. I think something “big” is about to happen in the Middle East.
The Court Of The Gentiles
Published: February 7, 2011I have a question about the Court of the Gentiles and why the Gentiles would have gone into the Temple in the first place, especially if they weren’t regarded as being worthy of being accepted by God. I know animals were sold in the Court of the Gentiles and the Gentiles probably went to sell their animals to the Jewish people.
Am I Slandering Satan?
Published: February 7, 2011Often times I realize that Satan has invaded my life and is manipulating me. When I come to this realization, I stop what I’m doing and say: “Satan, get out of my life. Go jump in that lake of fire and don’t come back.” Sometimes I’ll say: “Dear Jesus please help me get Satan out of here.” I don’t consider what I’m saying as slander; do you? By the way, why do we show Satan the respect that we do by capitalizing the name “Satan?”
Have We Misunderstood?
Published: February 7, 2011I have a question regarding the doctrines of eternal security and also the rapture. It seems very clear that these are biblical, but looking at what the early Church believed creates conflict for me. I know that the Bible is the final authority, but if Christians this soon after the cross believed in loss of salvation, works righteousness, etc. could we be wrong in your interpretation of God’s word? What’s also unnerving is just how many people are like that today. Some even say that OSAS and the rapture are only very modern ideas. What is the explanation for this?
Ridiculous Teaching About Satan?
Published: February 5, 2011I have read many of Jack Kelley’s writings and have learned from him but this article of lifting up Satan really frosts my cake. When Jack said Satan is given a position of respect in the kingdom of God and even Michael didn’t dare accuse him I have no idea what Jack was thinking. The scripture is full of accusation against Satan and that is especially true in the New Testament. I think Jack you must apologize for this idiocy or face being discredited big time. This idea of if Michael couldn’t accuse Satan then we must not accuse Satan is ridiculous. To cast out a devil is making an accusation wouldn’t you think? If Satan appears as an angel of light as Paul said, isn’t that an accusation?
