The Purpose Of The Great Tribulation

Q

Do you believe that the time of tribulation is predominantly to bring Israel to the knowledge of Jesus? This is what I have always heard.

Honoring Your Father

Published: July 7, 2011
Q

My father has been the most distant man in my whole life after he and my mother divorced when I was a small child. Over the years he has broken promise after promise. He even used my credit history to obtain utilities during the ten years he never contacted me. Of course he denied everything, but I know he did it. Am I being sinful by cutting all ties and disowning my him after he has failed to come clean?

Judging Teachers

Q

You have written more than once on how teachers of the Word will be judged more strictly because of the positions they hold. If those in leadership positions are not necessarily interpreting and teaching correct doctrine, but have accepted the penalty paid by Jesus Christ on the cross and are themselves saved, how are they judged differently from those that follow them?

Why Does God Let Satan Afflict Us?

Published: July 6, 2011
Q

I’ve told my daughter, who is 15, that Satan has access to God right now, and has to ask to do things to people…siting the book of Job, where he asked God if he could test him. Is that correct? Then my daughter asked “Why would God ever say yes to him, to allow him to do bad things to people?” That stumps me. Can you help?

What About My Kids?

Published: July 6, 2011
Q

I’m newly saved and born again. I have already raised my family, so my children, now all in their twenties, were not raised knowing and understanding what they needed to know to insure their salvation. I am consumed with guilt and worry over that. Would God really cause these good people, my children, to suffer for eternity because they’ve not yet come to understand? That doesn’t seem right to me and I struggle daily with it. Their lack of understanding is my failing, not theirs.

Should I Get Married?

Published: July 5, 2011
Q

I have been living with my girlfriend for the past year and have had a relationship for 3 years. We live together as man and wife but with no official ceremony. A friend(former) and I recently quarreled over the status of my relationship and he pointed out in Corinthians the prohibition against fornication. Ironically I am now inclined to agree with my former friend that I should be officially married to the woman I live with, but I still fail to see why God would care more about a ceremony and a band of gold rather than honest love and commitment between one man and one woman. I would be grateful for your perspective on this matter. If I abide in this relationship the Bible states I will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. Does this mean that even though I believe I will go to Hell instead?

Will There Still Be Sin?

Published: July 5, 2011
Q

Mankind’s rebellion is through evil in the world, although Adam and Eve had no sin when they were created. It took Satan to introduce a rebellious thought. However, in the millennium Satan will be bound so there should be no evil. Am I correct?

Getting Over Abuse

Published: July 5, 2011
Q

I was sexually abused when I was 13, I’m 24 now, and I’m still having trouble ‘getting over’ it. I know eventually Christ will erase all pain associated with the abuse, but right now I’m suffering with the memory of what was done to me. Are there any bible verses that will help me get through the tougher days?

Is The Bible In Error Here?

Published: July 4, 2011
Q

Exodus 33:11 says that the LORD spoke with Moses face-to-face, as a man speaks to his friend. Yet, in the same chapter in verse 20, it says “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live”. Is this a Bible error? Please explain.

Mistreating Animals

Published: July 4, 2011
Q

I have a family member who has about 8 dogs, but not because he wants them. They’re his girlfriend’s. He kicks them, hits them, etc. He recently got bitten on the leg. He claims to be a Christian , but how can a Christian be cruel and uncaring to any animal? My question is about the following verse.

Proverbs 12:10 ….”A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” I don’t understand the “tender mercies” part. How can the wicked have “tender mercies”?
