More On Using Our Gifts
Published: September 9, 2012How do I handle women who tell me they pray in tongues? I know these 3 women who think that this spiritual gift should be sought after and that it is a sign of a higher spiritual walk.
UFOs In The Bible?
Published: September 8, 2012I have a question about UFOs. I was watching a History channel program which said UFOs were thought to have been around since Biblical times. Do you find any evidence that the Bible is talking about such things?
Did The Catholic Church Invent Islam?
Published: September 8, 2012Did the early Catholic church create the Muslim faith? I ask this due to my own research which has not given me any solid evidence either way. From my understanding the Catholic church of that era created Islam to control the Jews and Christians for the Catholic church, but it got out of hand and Islam exploded into what we have today. Do you have any information about this?
The Tree Of Life
Published: September 7, 2012Your excellent study on the book of Revelation makes the point that there is no need for the church to eat from the tree of life. The tree of life is for the nations during the millennium. If this is so, why does Jesus promise that believers will “eat from the tree of life” in Revelation 2:7?
Doom And Gloom?
Published: September 7, 2012I, along with many of my friends and born again believers, watch as writer after writer on the RR website send forth messages of gloom and doom. I know through the history of the Bible, that prophets foretold what God wanted them to say. But as the saying goes, you cannot draw bees with vinegar, but you sure can with honey. Is all this doom and gloom really necessary?
One Paradise Or Two?
Published: September 7, 2012I have been reading your arguments for Paradise being a place of comfort in sheol and I usually agree with your reasoning but this time, it leaves me a bit confused. Could there be two kinds of Paradise; one in sheol according to Luke 23:43 and one in Heaven according to 2 Corinthians 12:4 ? In both these passages, the word Paradeisos is used, but they seem to describe two different destinations. Could you clarify this apparent contradiction for me please?
When Was The Lord Born And When Did He Die?
Published: September 6, 2012Thanks for the work you do on the site. Its a fantastic tool. I was reading a timeline in my bible today and it stated that Jesus was born in 5BC. If this is correct then Jesus would have been 38 at the time of the crucifixion. I doesn’t really matter how old he was but I’ve always assumed that he was 33. Which do you believe is correct?
Beliefs Shaken By Pastor
Published: September 6, 2012I’m a fairly new Christian and have always been a believer in the pre-trib rapture. I just found out today that our Associate Pastor is Post Trib. I found this out during a group discussion regarding God’s Wrath after I pointed out that 1 Thes. 5:9 says we’re not appointed to wrath. He said the wrath Paul was referring to is eternal condemnation of non-believers. He said rapture passages could just as easily be describing the 2nd Coming, the rapture doesn’t appear anywhere in New Testament theology, and the dispensational interpretation of Daniel’s 70th Week is a shaky and novel one. Being a baby Christian, the understanding that I had from beginning has now been shaken and that scares me to death! Can you help?
The End Times Empire. Follow Up
Published: September 5, 2012I’ve read your articles about the revived Roman empire either being from the Western or Eastern leg of old Rome. If the ten toes of Nebuchadnezzar’s statue represent these kings and each leg represents the eastern and western leg, then is it possible the ten kings could be a mix of 5 Islamic leaders and 5 western leaders?
What Did Jesus Do In Hell? Follow Up
Published: September 5, 2012I have a question about Luke 23:39-43, and the arguments I have read about the comma placement, which changes the whole time element about when the thief actually went to Paradise. With the comma placement as it appears in Scripture, the thief went to Paradise that very day. Moving the comma over to follow the word today, the thief’s arrival was an eventuality, but not necessarily that day. I know that punctuation and verse and chapter assignments were not made until the Bible was actually put together by men, so how do we know for certain that what we see today is accurate?
