Marriage, Old Vs. New

Published: September 22, 2012
Q

For many years now I have been wondering why it was acceptable for men in the Old Testament to have multiple wives and concubines (and I am assuming they had sexual relations) while in the Church today you are either living in adultery or not saved if you have divorced and remarried. The guilt can be quite overwhelming at times. Thank you for any help you can give.

Three Days Of Darkness Coming?

Published: September 21, 2012
Q

I was wondering if you’ve heard about the “3 days of darkness” that some say is coming in 2012. I have heard from some (so-called) Christians that the Lord has revealed three days of darkness as in OT times in Exodus. Is there any truth to this?

I was wondering if there was scripture about some but not all of the Jews turning to Jesus before the Rapture and Tribulation?

Did Paul Write To The Laodicean Church?

Published: September 21, 2012
Q

In Colossians 4:16 Paul references the church at Laodicea and directs them to not only read his letter to the Colossians there but also that the Colossians read the letter from Laodicea. What letter was written from Laodicea and why do you think he was so emphatic about both letters being read by both churches?

Predestination And John 3:16

Published: September 20, 2012
Q

When you say John 3:16 proves that the Calvinists aren’t correct, how do we know it doesn’t prove that they are? Their whole idea is that God makes people believe, right? And John 3:16 says whosoever believes has everlasting life. Do you see what I mean?

Taking Communion With A Meal?

Published: September 20, 2012
Q

My pastor, associate pastor, and chairman of deacons want to have a Sunday night supper at church near Thanksgiving, and celebrate that holiday along with participating in the Lord’s Supper at the same time. Is this possible according to Baptist beliefs, and should it be kept separate from a regular meal? Please advise, since I am going to have a hard decision to make about this. I am the past Chairman, and I am against it.

The Coming Leader. Follow Up

Published: September 20, 2012
Q

I am totally astonished by your reference to the antichrist being crippled in one arm and blinded in his right eye using Zech: 11.17. In all my long years of being a Christian I have never heard this before and never read that verse until today. I have always believed the antichrist will actually be killed and rise again on the third day in an imitation of Jesus Christ. Can you give me other scriptures that corroborate this version you have?

The Anti-Christ In The Old Testament

Published: September 19, 2012
Q

I noticed in your current study you used Zechariah 11:17 in reference to the anti-Christ. Would you know of any other verses in the Old Testament that speak of him as well, since this has piqued my interest. I don’t think the anti-Christ being in the old testament is ever discussed by Christians at all. I’ve done a quick online search but haven’t come up with much. When I first became a believer, I remember coming across passages in the old testament that seemed to be talking about a “what if” Jesus had failed his mission. Could these passages in fact be alluding to the anti-Christ?

Is Satan Concerned About The Rapture?

Q

Since the devil knows the Bible, does he know what the rapture means and could he be trying to rush it, slow it, or is he not concerned?
