What Language Did Jesus Read In?
Published: June 11, 2018Someone in my small group said that when Jesus read from the OT in the synagogue that he was reading from the Septuagint. I disagreed because Jesus was within the Holy Land where Hebrew was still spoken. I understand that the main reason the Septuagint was made – so the Jews outside of the Holy Land could still read scripture since they were losing the Hebrew language. So, do you think the Septuagint was read by Jesus in the synagogues?
Evangelizing My Catholic Family
Published: June 11, 2018I want to show some Catholic members of my family that they can’t be saved by following Catholic dogma. I plan to use Romans 10:9 and Matt. 7:21-23 as my Scriptural support. Putting these together, it seems that unless we confess and believe in the True Jesus, the one clearly defined and presented in Holy Scripture, we could find ourselves standing before Him and being told the He never knew us. The reason being that we confessed a different Jesus from the one presented in His Holy Word, a Jesus of salvation plus works. Am I understanding this correctly?
More On The Temptation Of Jesus
Published: June 8, 2018I believe Jesus was/is God because of a statement I think you made, can’t recall if it’s actually written Scripture or not but when you said, and I may be paraphrasing it, “In order for God to be a just God, He had to experience everything we experienced.” And to me, in order for God to experience everything we experience, He had to become like us.
Why Don’t They Understand This?
Published: June 8, 2018In your book, “Seven Things You Have To Know …” You said, “History shows us that after the cross, major signs began to appear in the Temple indicating the obsolescence of its ritual. First, the veil was torn, opening the way to the Holy of Holies. Then, one of the seven lamps of the Menorah refused to stay lit. The main entrance door kept opening by itself. The ribbon attached to the scapegoat’s horn no longer turned from red to white at the moment of its death as it always had before. And there were others.” Where can I read about these signs that happened after the cross? Do Jews acknowledge these signs? If so, how do they still deny Jesus? Also, how did the Jews transition away from animal sacrifices?
Why Did God Allow This?
Published: June 8, 2018Thank you for your website. It is truly a blessing. A question on something I have always wondered. Since God is all knowing, past, present, future, the alpha and omega – this means he already knew Satan would fall from heaven, challenge his deity, bring evil upon mankind, etc. Why would God allow this to happen to all of his creation including us humans?
The Four Soils Of Matt. 13
Published: June 7, 2018Of the four soils in Matthew chapter 13, which ones do you think actually represent people who are truly saved?
Judgment Begins At The House Of God
Published: June 7, 2018Can you tell me what 1 Peter 4:17 means? “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God?: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of Christ” This verse has really impacted me.
The Family Tree Of Man
Published: June 7, 2018Since we are all descended from Adam, what branch of the family is from which of Adam’s sons? I have long wondered who gave birth to which areas of nations and beliefs? As a Christian whose family is all from Italy, where in the family tree do I come in? Did Cain’s or Able’s branch give us the Jews and Gentiles? I get most of the lineage but I always get lost at Cain & Abel.
When Does Rev. 7 Take Place?
Published: June 6, 2018The 7th chapter of Revelation seems to occur before the last 3 1/2 years. At the beginning of the chapter, the 144,000 are sealed, which happens before the last 3 1/2 years. And in context, the remaining verses speak of those who came out of the great tribulation. If this is referring to the final 3 1/2 years, then this part of the vision will have to happen after the final 3 1/2 years. But it seems more likely to me that this whole chapter takes place before the final 3 1/2 years. Which is correct?
Does The Great Tribulation Have A Specified Duration?
Published: June 6, 2018It has been common among talk of the end times to use the phrase “The Great Tribulation.” And it is assumed that this phrase is referring to only the last half of the final 7 year period before Christ’s return. This is assumed because of the word “The.” But when Jesus used this phrase in Matt. 24:21, He never included the word “The.” Without the word “The,” the phrase “great tribulation” is much less precise, and doesn’t specifically refer to a period named “The Great Tribulation.” This would allow the period to refer to the entire 7 years of the 70th week. I would appreciate your comments on this issue.
