Regarding Psalm 103

Published: February 18, 2013
Q

Re: Psalm 103:1-5: “Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Does it make sense to believe that God heals all our diseases and restores our youth in this life? I see no evidence of that. Could it be that this is a promise for our future in our resurrected bodies?

Am I Expected To Tithe?

Published: February 17, 2013
Q

I see there has been a number of questions relating to what to tithe. My problem is this: I am deeply in debt, not including my mortgage (yes, I know borrowing is unscriptural). Although I want to give, I don’t have enough unemployment benefit to pay my creditors, let alone feed myself. Am I still expected to tithe?

The Holy Spirit In The Tribulation

Published: February 17, 2013
Q

How will The Holy Spirit work with the believers after the rapture? I know that now people receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit but what about after? Will preachers have gifts to teach and interpret the bible, does the Holy Spirit assist or is everyone on their own?

Still More On Jesus And The Rapture

Published: February 16, 2013
Q

I was reading John 17: 15 where Jesus is saying his prayer is not for believers to be taken out of this world but for God to protect them from the evil one while they are here on earth. This prayer appears as if Jesus didn’t have a thought of believers being raptured at some point. Why did Jesus pray for us not to be taken out of this world if he knew that at some time he will come to rapture us? Also, in the Lords prayer of Matt. 6:9-13 He speaks about praying for the Kingdom of God to come on earth and His will be done on earth. What is the use of praying this prayer for the kingdom to come on earth if we are going to be raptured anyway? Can you please give your opinion on these passages?

Why Judge The Church In Laodicea?

Published: February 15, 2013
Q

Lately, I’ve been struggling with this concept of believing that we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. If this is the case and God sees us that way, why would Jesus “judge” the works of the Laodicean Church in Revelation chapter 3? We are saved by grace not works, but it seems these guys’ works (or lack of them) was going to determine if Jesus cut them off or not.

Did God Divorce Israel?

I was reading your post “No one knows the day or the hour” Most of it was very good, but I have a question. When did God divorce Israel?

Is Alcohol A Sin? More Follow Up

Published: February 14, 2013
Q

Re: Is Alcohol a Sin I have been reading the questions and answers to the issue around alcohol and Christianity. I would like to look at this issue from a different angle. Jesus is our example of how we should live as Christians and He is the one we should be following. We should not look for excuses to do the things that sinners do, we should look to do what is righteous and holy before God. The Church is weak in power today because of compromise. We will see a lot more miracles and people being saved if we keep our heart and mind pure before Him. The problem with alcohol is that it clouds our judgment and changes our thinking and the way we conduct ourselves in front of others.

Does Israel Model OSAS?

Published: February 13, 2013
Q

Would you say that OSAS is modeled in the Old Testament through God’s relationship with the nation of Israel? The covenant that God made with Abraham in Genesis 15:9-21 was a one sided covenant with God as the only participant demonstrating the “union” side and Israel’s on again off again relationship with God over the years representing the “fellowship” portion. What do you think?

Can Satan Influence Our Future?

Published: February 13, 2013
Q

Can Satan know things about our future and then make those things come true? I know he can’t be 100% accurate like God is, but are there things he knows about our future, and can he work behind the scenes to make those things come true?

Does John 1 Precede Genesis 1?

Published: February 13, 2013
Q

When I compare Genesis 1:1 with John 1:1 I see a huge difference, but I’m asking for your opinion. Isn’t John 1:1 much more ancient than Genesis 1:1? His being has to predate His work, does it not?
