Understanding Rev. 14:9-11 Follow Up
Published: October 27, 2013Re: Understanding Rev. 14:9-11. I am one of those that hopes/believes in the “punishment fits the crime” principle where a non-believer’s time in hell will be determined by the “goodness” of their life, after which the person will be destroyed and will cease to exist in any form. Why should a “good” person receive the same punishment as Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin or Saddam Hussein? Also, Jesus talked of the “Second death” in the Bible. If non-believers suffer for all eternity, then Jesus is a liar and there is no second death.
Was Adam The First Man?
Published: October 27, 2013Thank you for your wonderful site. It has helped so often with home bible study groups over the years. We have a sincere and good lady who keeps believing there was a race before Adam. We cannot get her away from this. What are the key arguments to make it clear to her that she is in error here.
Why Did The Lord Linger On Earth?
Published: October 27, 2013Thanks for a very informative website. What did Christ do on earth during the period after his resurrection and before Pentecost? Why wasn’t He taken directly to Heaven instead of having to stay an additional 40 days?
Understanding Rev. 14:9-11
Published: October 27, 2013In Rev. 14:9-11 what exactly does the third angel mean when saying, “He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb”? It almost sounds as if he is describing someone viewing a public execution. Am I interpreting this correctly?
With His Dying Breath?
Published: October 26, 2013In the past you have written, “I believe that a person can ask with his last breath to be saved and the Lord will agree.” Does that mean if somebody says with his last breath “God, if you exist, please help me!” the Lord will save him from eternal damnation? Is this enough?
Establish Our Work
Published: October 26, 2013Thanks again for sharing your insight and teaching us. I was wondering what does it mean when someone asks God to establish the work of their hands?
How Will We Feel?
Published: October 25, 2013Will there be class division in Heaven? I mean, people that have earned rewards (crowns) by doing God’s will on earth and living for him, and then people who get in by the skin of their teeth. Will they be treated different, do you think? Like say, people who just got in, without rewards, will they have lowly jobs, smaller mansions, have to wait years to talk to Jesus? Or do you think it’ll all be equal? Thanks! Love your website!
Belief Or Obedience?
Published: October 25, 2013Hebrews 5:9 says ‘and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.’ Is the word obey referring to all who believe in the Gospel or some other kind of obedience?
What Did Ham Do?
Published: October 25, 2013I know there are a number of different interpretations of Genesis 9:22. Could you give me your opinion? Thank you.
Immortal Again?
Published: October 25, 2013I thank God for your study on Hebrews. It really helped me understand that our Lord Jesus Christ is there waiting for us. Can you please explain to me further this verse in Genesis because I am a little confused.
And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” Genesis 3:22.
