Does Prayer Change Things?

Published: October 31, 2013
Q

I always thought that God knows from beginning to end and knows all the choices we would make for our lives so how does prayer change things? Are there scriptures that support this idea? I want to pray effectively for my family and friends in need.

Do We Have To Read To Be saved?

Published: October 31, 2013
Q

One of my sons almost died when he was 5 due to extremely high fever which lasted 3 days. It affected his learning ability. He can learn but at an extremely slow pace. He says that what he has learned of the bible is from the preachers and me. He loves the Lord and is extremely faithful to Him. Recently some one he met told him that he had to read the bible himself or the word wasn’t his nor his salvation. Also that he should speak Hebrew. What kind of church has those beliefs and do you believe that is so? He is in his 50’s and has lead a Christian life for many years.

Jesus And The Neanderthals

Q

I’d be interested in what your thoughts are concerning reconciling the creation of Adam and Eve, as explained in the Holy Book, with the skeletal, anthropological evidence of the existence of other hominid species, especially the skeletal remains of “Neanderthals”, who were here on Earth for several hundred thousand years? Outside of the “nephilim” in Genesis and Numbers, no other humanoid creature is mentioned. Jesus talked about Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, and many other Old Testament teachings, but never about prior humanoids.

Pearls Before Swine

Q

If we are to share the Gospel with others, then what did the Lord mean when he said, “Give not what is Holy to dogs, nor cast not your pearls before swine.”? Are we supposed to discern who to share with? I always thought we were to be witnesses to all we meet in life. What did the Lord mean by this?

Still Saved After All These Years?

Published: October 28, 2013
Q

I have always thought of myself as a Christian but finally gave my life to Jesus in July this year. I lost my Dad in June and what hurt me most was not the fact that he died suddenly, but not being sure if his soul is in a comfortable place waiting for resurrection. It then occured to me that He attended a revival years ago and got saved. He later walked away from this path, got into deep depression, drank a lot and even considered suicide. 3 weeks before his death, he told my sister that if God does not take him away from this world soon, he would throw himself in a river. He died suddenly of a blood clot in the heart. To cut a long story short, I would like to know if by being saved years ago, he was still saved when he died. He believed and loved God.

Nuclear Warfare And The Millennium

Published: October 28, 2013
Q

I was thinking about the tribulation and the 7 year period. If the Millennium is going to start shortly after that 7 year period, would that rule out the nuclear weapon wars that we all fear? How would the earth be in habitable within 7 years of a nuclear war? Also, what is your view of the ‘ Illuminati’ and their drive towards their NWO? Don’t they realize they will have no one to rule over after Christ returns?

Why Did Jesus Have To Die?

Published: October 28, 2013
Q

A friend of mine has never been very open to me talking to her about Christ and tonight that changed. She poured her heart out to me and began asking questions. She wants to know why Christ had to die and shed His blood. She said if God knows our heart and we ask His forgiveness, why would that have not been enough for Him? She seems to be really hung up on the blood. Can you help me answer her?

How Are We To Believe?

Published: October 28, 2013
Q

I remember a missionary from another religion saying that 10 million people can’t be wrong in their belief in (his religion), to which I responded, “Well going with that logic, I could say 1 billion people cant be wrong about Islam.” In the case of his religion he said the members “feel” their religion is correct. But don’t most people who follow other religions feel that they are correct? They might even get dreams and visions telling them their religion is right.

The only conclusion one can draw from this is that you cannot base your belief on feelings. So how are we to believe then. Logic? Knowledge? Just because? With something as important as our salvation, are we supposed to believe not using our feelings? I hope you are able to provide some insight on this.

Has God Stopped Healing People?

Published: October 27, 2013
Q

I used to believe that healing was possible, but I just don’t know anymore. I use mark 16:17-20 as my proof, as well as the verses where it says that if we have faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed, we can say to this mountain, move and it shall be cast into the sea, and the works that Jesus did, we can also do! My problem is a website I read that seems to explain how healing is not for today, and we simply don’t have the authority to command sickness to leave. I’m really confused, please help me.
