Gathering The Elect

Published: November 24, 2014
Q

Re: Matthew 24:30-31 Jesus is coming in the clouds, all see him and then the angels gather the elect from the four winds. Are these the saved Jews from the nations? And are they being all summoned to Jerusalem?

Sit At My Right Hand

Q

Why is it important that Jesus sit at the right hand of God the father? There seem to be a lot of verses that talk about the right hand, why?

Drug Use In the Bible?

Published: November 24, 2014
Q

Re: Will I Be Left Behind Because Of My Habits? I read in this article you state “the Bible doesn’t mention drug use” I agree 110% that the only requirement for salvation and being part of the rapture is believe alone, by faith alone and by Christ alone. 1 Thes 4:14 says if we believe that Jesus died & rose again we’re in. However, the Greek word translated sorcery in Gal 5:19-21 is “pharmakeia” where we get the English word pharmacy. It’s talking about drugs.

One Messiah Or Two?

Published: November 24, 2014
Q

I wanted to get into the Jewish eschatological mind a bit and bought a book on the subject. In the section about Gog and Magog, it mentions TWO Messiahs, Maschiach Ben Yosef (Joseph) and Maschiach Ben Dovid (David). It also mentions that evil will cancel out evil in the war of Gog and Magog, and a period of peace is expected after. If this is their expectation, could this be the mechanism by which Israel is deceived by the Antichrist?

I Am Not A Wacko

Published: November 24, 2014
Q

I am convinced that we are living in the Last Days and that prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes. But when I talk to my husband about it he says I am a “wacko”. He was very instrumental in helping me to be saved in the first place. But now (after 33 years of marriage) I feel like have reached a higher level of spiritual insight, thanks to sites like yours.

I know the Bible says in the last times there will be scoffers, but what do I do if I am married to one? I pray that his eyes will be opened, but it is difficult to live day to day with him and his refusal to see thee things. He spends most of his time reading magazines about money and investments. Shouldn’t he be spending at least part of that time reading and learning about his eternal inheritance?

Revelation As Fantasy?

Published: November 24, 2014
Q

I just found your website. No offense intended, but your doctrine sounds straight out of the “Left Behind” series. Isn’t Revelation better interpreted when seen through the eyes of its earliest audience to which it was written, i.e. the seven churches of Asia Minor? There’s no end to the wacky stuff that can be attributed to Revelation when taken out of its context. It’s apocalyptic material written to give comfort to the Christians who were being persecuted by the Roman Empire, but your end times view confused a friend of mine abut that.

Are The Seal Judgments Open?

Published: November 24, 2014
Q

I have a friend who thinks we’re already experiencing the seal judgments. I told him that the Tribulation can’t officially start until the covenant is signed and confirmed between Israel and the Antichrist, and that has not happened yet. So the four seals are not in the process of being opened. Nor will they be, until we, the Church, are out of here. I said what we are experiencing now are birth pangs. The seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments won’t commence until the Age of Grace is finished and the last 7 years of the Age of the Law begin. We’ll be in Heaven with Jesus by then. He asked me for the scripture references for the points I made. Any aid you can give me on this will be greatly appreciated.

Do I Have To Forgive Everyone

Published: November 24, 2014
Q

In the gospels Jesus is often quoted as saying that if you do not do something, you will not reach the kingdom of God, or see it or attain it. Recently our pastor pointed this out and said he didn’t want to “upset our evangelical upbringing” but that it’s true. I think he was talking about forgiveness specifically, though there are other instances where Jesus says similar things (such as Matthew 7:21, Mark 10:15, etc).

I am a fairly new believer so I began asking around some people who belong to my congregation and they all believe you must forgive everyone of everything all the time, and do all of what Jesus commands or you’re doomed. So I have been racking my brain afraid that there will be someone somewhere I haven’t forgiven, because if I don’t forgive, God won’t forgive me. I am sure I haven’t forgiven everyone everything, am I not saved since he won’t forgive me? What of the other passages where Jesus says those phrases? Was he just kidding when he said you MUST forgive everyone?

Are Time And Eternity Different?

Published: November 23, 2014
Q

I read in one of the questions that you answered that there will be no time in eternity. I always believed that, too, but have read in a few Bible versions and books that Rev. 10:6 means “no more delay” rather than “time no more”. What do you think about the interpretation of it as “no more delay”? Are time and eternity different?

Are We Worshiping An Idol?

Published: November 23, 2014
Q

Do you believe that there are such things that God does not want us to have in our homes? and is there anything in the bible on this? The reason i ask is my husband loves lego and i know he would really like the lego model of the Taj Mahal, however because it is a Muslim temple we are not sure whether this is something that we should have in our home?
