How Important Is Asking?

Published: February 1, 2015
Q

How important is the asking for salvation, really? I mean, if you know you’re a sinner in need of a savior and believe that Jesus died for your sins, that would be enough, right? Do you still need to ask for salvation to be saved? In John 3:16 it says that whosoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life, which would indicate that belief is all that’s needed and not necessarily the asking, is this a correct interpretation? What is your view on this?

Are Today’s Jews The Right Jews?

Q

Reading Hosea chapter 3 I feel I’m reading a synopsis, a summary of the book itself. Clearly, we see a return promised here in vs. 5: “…Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.”

So many believe that those living in the “Holy Land” today, right now, are not really the “returnees” promised here in Hosea 3, and in several other passages. Is the Israel today the “right” Israel?

New Wine In Old Wineskins

Our small group is studying Matthew. When we got to Matthew 9:16-17, a lengthy discussion broke out, as to the meaning, and we couldn’t come to an agreement. Please give me your understanding of these two verses.

Called To Worship?

Q

We are studying Revelation in a Bible study and in chapter four we get a glimpse of heaven where God is being worshiped. My question is why are we called to worship God and will this be our eternal purpose. The word ‘worship’ can sometimes seem egotistical and I know God is not egotistical so why does He want us to worship Him.

Understanding The Bible

Q

I find it sometimes almost unbelievable on how you put it all together and make the Bible so much clearer and easier to understand. With there being a “simplicity in Jesus Christ”, why do you think it is so hard for so many to understand and/or do the “Berean research” in understanding the Bible? I understand human nature and always trying to “read between the lines” and such, but is there any Scripture that explains why Jesus believing people have a hard time understanding the Bible?

Problems With Amillennialism, Etc

Q

Thank you for a superb site proclaiming the truth of God’s Holy Word . When I got saved some 23 years ago I just assumed Christians took Scripture plainly at face value . I now know this is not necessarily so . My concern is : There are saved Ministers out there preaching Salvation thru Christ faithfully with many converts , whilst holding an amillennial view claiming God’s Word is “contained” in Scripture rather than Scripture is God’s Word.

I cannot reconcile how it is possible for a saved Christian to be comfortable distorting large portions of Scripture and how they as teachers ultimately sit with God . I have deep concern for them , but more so for their congregations . Where I live in Scotland , this unfortunately is the norm . I have tried gently to encourage a serious study in this area , but have met with solid resistance . It troubles me greatly as I can no longer continue Bible study with them where replacement theology is taught . Some direction would be much appreciated .

The 144,000 And The 2 Witnesses, Follow Up

Published: January 31, 2015
Q

Mark 13:20 “And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.” Doesn’t this tell us that at least some of the Elect survive the Tribulation, and go into the Millennial Kingdom?

Can we Lose Our Salvation? Follow Up

Published: January 30, 2015
Q

Re: “Can We Lose Our Salvation Through Disobedience” In your response about the fear of losing one’s salvation, I have a question. My understanding is if we fear that we can loose our salvation then we are trusting in ourselves and not in God’s provision. Therefore we are not truly saved because we are in essence trusting only in ourselves and not in God for our salvation. The fear of doing something that would loose our salvation is depending on our own works to save us and not trusting in God to save us. So I consider people who believe they can loose their salvation are not really saved at all. Please help me with this if it is incorrect.

Who Will Repopulate the Planet?

Published: January 29, 2015
Q

Can you please provide some clarification regarding what remnant of the surviving Tribulation population will go on to repopulate the planet after the Second Coming? Will it be those who come to faith during the Tribulation and survive, will it be those who are unbelieving until Christ’s return, or will it be a combination of both? We are a little confused as to whether the surviving Tribulation believers will be residing in the New Jerusalem with the returning saints, or living on the out skirts repopulating the planet and if so, how will they be differentiated from those who did not believe until they actually see Yeshua’s appearance?

The 144,000 And The 2 Witnesses

Published: January 29, 2015
Q

I am confused about the 144,000 and the two witnesses. Which one came first, the two witnesses, did they witness to the 144,000? Or did the 144,000 witness the to the two witnesses? Will these two witnesses preach during the last half of the Tribulation? Will the 144,000 have any ministry during the last half of the Tribulation?
