Doubting My Salvation
Published: March 6, 2015I asked Christ to come into my life over 33 years ago and for the first 30 years I never doubted that I was His. Now that it appears we may be nearing the time of the end, I’ve been fearful that I’m not saved for some reason. I’ve always been a believer in once saved, always saved, so why am I having these fears and doubts? Is it the enemy messing with me or could it be that I’ve not spent regular time with the Lord in recent years or what? I know we can’t rely on feelings, but it’s very unsettling to doubt my salvation after so many years of feeling totally secure.
How Could He Do That?
Published: March 5, 2015It seems that my wife can not believe that a loving God who gave his only Son, to pay for the sins of man, could condone the act described in Rev.21:8-9. She rejects “fire and brimstone” threats and wonders whether there is a deeper meaning to all this.
Submissive Wife, Loving Husband
Published: March 5, 2015I have observed that in many sermons and conferences concerning the roles of husbands and wives, Col.3:18 gets about 4 seconds and 3:19 gets expounded upon at length, with a thunderous “congregation clap” breaking out when the speaker finally concludes that the breakdown of Christian marriages would cease if only men would start 3:19ing it (or something like that).
I see the unwillingness of women to submit to their husbands as the number 1 cause of divorce. A person only has to watch TV for a few minutes to see that men are being portrayed as football watching idiots who need to be constantly corrected by their wives. I dare say that the church is complicit in this propaganda campaign.
I would like to hear from you about this – before I pick up a copy of that new book: “the woman driven church”
Why Doesn’t He Save Everyone? Follow Up
Published: March 5, 2015Re: “Why doesn’t God save everyone.” I agree with your answer up to a point; but it avoids the real question. (In my mind; at least.) Here it is: God; in His foreknowledge; knew who would open their hearts to Him. However; He also knew who would not be receptive to Him. He knows who will be eternally lost. Why create a person who will suffer eternally? Would it not be better (and…I say this with reverence) be more loving not to create those people?
Understanding Predestination
Published: March 5, 2015Is the following from the Geneva Study Bible a proper understanding of predestination from Romans 8:29? For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestine.
“To foreknow and to predestine are not the same thing. One is an act of foreknowledge, or knowing something before it occurs; the other is to decree something. We only have knowledge of the past, but God foresees the future even as he sees the past; foresees it, not because he has decreed it, but because there are no limitations on his knowledge. Augustine says:
‘There can be no predestination without foreknowledge; but there can be foreknowledge without predestination.’
Whom does God foreknow ? Those who shall love God. As he looked into the future these were present to his mind; foreknown. What did he predestine of them? Not that they should love God. Not that they should believe; nor that some should be saved and others damned; but that those who he saw beforehand would love God, should be conformed to the image of his Son. The only thing predestined, or foreordained, is that those who love God as revealed in Christ shall become Christlike in life, and like Christ in eternity. This is the only decree in the passage.”

Why Does God Intervene Sometimes And Not Others?
Published: March 5, 2015I have been a believer for 27 years. Something has been on my mind for a long time and have never had the guts to ask. But here goes. In the case of rape, murder, abuse, etc. it seems God sometimes intervenes and sometimes He doesn’t. I know God loves both the victim and the criminal with a love we can never understand this side of eternity. Can you please help me understand why it’s OK for Him to stop attacks like this sometimes and not others?
Help Me Save My Marriage
Published: March 5, 2015My wife and I have been married for 8+ years and in the last 2 months she became distant. 3 weeks ago she told me she had been speaking to someone else on the internet and that she had very strong feeling for him. She has meet up with him once that I know of. She told me she needed some space but it has escalated to the point where anything I say to her she takes as a personal attack on her she thinks I am trying to control her every move and that I am nothing but a burden to her. Please help I am lost. And I am afraid of losing the love of my life.
Asking For Wisdom
Published: March 5, 2015I have been studying James 1:5-8. It sounds like if I believe without wavering that God will give me the wisdom I seek that he will give it liberally. Is there something wrong with my faith if the wisdom I ask for isn’t received? Am I being impatient?
Current Events And Prophecy
Published: March 4, 2015In light of the administration’s reaction to Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Congress, it seems as if the U.S. Government is beginning to turn its back on Israel. How can Jerusalem become a “city without walls” if its allies begin fading away? Will the current battle against ISIS/ISIL cause the Arab countries to form a strong coalition to defeat these terrorists, enfolding Israel into its protection in the process, thus leading to a fulfillment of prophecy?
More On Free Will And Salvation
Published: March 4, 2015How can we act on the free will God gave us to be born again if someone uses their free will to murder us? What is to say that the person that was murdered after the accountability age would or would not of chosen a life with Christ had they not been murdered or that a person for some reason would reject Christ later on in life? God’s will is we all come to the saving grace of His Son Jesus but He knew before He made us what our choice would be. Was our destiny set before we were born or will people who met an untimely death have an argument at the judgement or why even have a judgement if our life was predestined? What about the fact that God calls us to salvation, not that we were first to choose?
