Martyrs And Saints
Published: March 26, 2015Scripture tell us that man is appointed once to die and then judgment. The Bema seat is for the Bride and the great white throne is for all those whose names are not found in the Book of Life. When do the tribulation martyrs/ saints receive their judgment and also the old testament saints?
Old Testament Promises
Published: March 25, 2015I cringe when I hear Christians claiming Old Testament promises like Jeremiah 29:11 and 2 Chron. 7:14 because it seems they were specifically for Israel often at a specific point in time. People want to claim Israel’s benefits, but not their judgments! Is it wrong to claim promises such as those listed above? How can we discern what was for Israel alone vs. what can apply to us today? Is it based on personal vs national promises? I’m confused.
Is God In Everyone And Everything?
Published: March 25, 2015Several colleagues of mine are involved in new age mysticism and eastern religions. A common belief of theirs is that “god is in everyone and everything” and they often talk about “seeking oneness” with the universe. Could you please help point me to scriptures that address this directly?
Three Heavens?
Published: March 24, 2015In 2 Cor 12:2, Paul reports being caught up to the third heaven. Where are the other two and what scripture references are there?
Churches Of Christ
Published: March 24, 2015Question: Are the churches of Christ the church Christ built and are all the others wrong? I’m very confused.
How Is It Possible?
Published: March 24, 2015How can we enter into heaven without spot or wrinkle if we can’t stop sinning because of our sin nature?
Prayer Language And Tongues
Published: March 23, 2015Your response to “Born Again Twice” mentions prayer language, i.e. speaking in tongues. I don’t get this whole tongues thing. I’ve never had a prayer language; and frankly after asking for it many times in an attempt to do all God would have me do, without receiving, I don’t believe it’s for every Christian otherwise God would have given me one. Do you believe every Christian must speak in tongues or have a prayer language?
Hagar Moments
Published: March 23, 2015I was wondering if it’s possible for us to have what I call “Hagar” moments in our own lives. I mean moments where God seems to have promised something, but then something else comes along which would seem like a better choice, but would only lead to disaster?
Creationism And Evolution
Published: March 23, 2015How does one reconcile the arguments of creationism vs. evolution? I hold fast to the belief that God created man, but, with overwhelming proof of the concept of evolving is there any proof outside faith that at some point God made man as he is today and in doing so broke from the predecessor “cave man” etc. Is there a blending of the two concepts that is acceptable to the Christian faith?
The Church Of What’s Happening Now
Published: March 22, 2015My wife and I had been attending a country church for several years. At some point, the pastor started removing long-time members who didn’t agree with his idea of a “seeker-friendly” contemporary church from the board. Then he appointed board members who were new-comers, did away with traditional services, and caused many senior members to leave the church, including us.
Since then, we have been trying to find an evangelical church that isn’t either seeker-friendly or one of the very legalistic churches that remind me of the Judaizers that plagued the early church. I don’t want to behave like those mentioned in Hebrews 10:25, but in our area, I see apostasy in every church I’ve contacted. What to do?
