Seven Letters To Seven churches
Published: October 7, 2015Thank you so much for your service to the Lord by having this website. So many questions are answered with solid sound doctrine. This is something we sheep need so desperately today.
My question concerns the 7 Letters written to the 7 Churches. Some say that the Lord is addressing true believers and some say that he was addressing all those who profess faith in Him. Some were/are truly saved and some were/are not.
I was raised Roman Catholic. When I was 16 I rejected Christianity because it seemed to me that Jesus was always sending me to hell for something that I did or did not do. At 21, for the very first time I heard the true Gospel of Grace, the Gospel of our Salvation. I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and was baptized to that testimony.
As I began to read the 7 letters to 7 Churches, I recognized the Roman Catholic Church in Churches 3 and 4, Pergamos and Thyatira. Especially Thyatira. In the Letters, as I understood it, Christ was speaking to all those who say they know Him. The over comers did and those who didn’t overcome didn’t. I was an over comer, coming out of a background of Roman Catholicism (Thyatira). I had found the truth and believed. Sardis which represents the Reformation period, has a name that they live but they are dead. Why were/are they really dead?
I see this as being those from the Reformed and Covenant Churches that claim the name of Christ, but teach that you can lose salvation. If you can lose it, then your salvation was never really based on Christ alone, no matter how much you claim His name and say that you know Him.
My question is this, are the Letters written to the 7 Churches written to all believers, or to all who claim His name, some saved (the over comers), but some that are not saved, being professors only (not overcoming)?
What Does It All Mean?
Published: October 7, 2015Do you know why God decided to create angels and then humans? And then go to all the bother of getting all these events here on Earth and in Heaven to take place?
What is His main drive to do all this? And what is His final expected outcome? And for what reason?
Looking from our position right now we see what’s coming and what’s going to happen, but I’m wondering what is God’s main underlying reason for getting all this to happen?
He must have some outstandingly huge purpose for us in order to put all these events into action. Which brings me to the question why does He require us when he can do everything Himself?
What is our ultimate destiny as His Church?
Curses On Buildings Or Land
Published: October 7, 2015Thank you for this opportunity to ask you questions, I value your wisdom.
My question is: There is a teaching that on some buildings and land there are curses because of the activities that have been carried out on the site, and these must be lifted by ‘spiritual warfare’ type prayer (applying the blood of Jesus etc). What is the Biblical position on this for New Covenant believers? Thank you.
A Kingdom For The Gentiles
Published: October 6, 2015If there is no difference between Jew and Greek, etc, then why is there a difference made between Jew and Gentile? I know that Israel is God’s chosen people. So where do Gentiles fit into all this? Is there really a place in The Kingdom for Gentiles?
Dressed In White
Published: October 6, 2015I have been ask to plan a Sunday when all the ladies in the church will wear white dresses. I feel that when this event is planned that the event should be based in scripture and have a scripture relevance and back ground;the wearing of white should symbolize or provide a link to help worshipers remember a meaningful/useful /encouraging/ promising verse or passage in scripture.
What do you have to guide me in planning this event so that all will want to participate because it encourages them to reflect on Jesus and the promises of life in salvation and heaven. I want this event to be structured so that it is viewed and felt as a Holy -Sprit filled worshipful event.
Our New Name
Published: October 6, 2015I noticed something today while reading Judges 13:17,18 that peaked my interest and connected some dots for me in scripture. The angel of the Lord was visiting Manoah and telling him about the future birth of Samson, and how to raise him in the Lord (summary of vs. 2-16), and Manoah asked the angel his name so that he could honor him when his word about Samson came true. The angel replied, “Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding.”
There are other scripture passages where people being addressed by the “angel of the Lord” asked the angel his name. Somewhere else in scripture, maybe you know the reference, the Bible mentions in Heaven we, the raptured saints, will be given new names known only to the Father, perhaps indicative of the personal and unique lessons we learned by being overcomers in Christ?.
Do you think all of these passages somehow tie in the significance of our future names (and how they will be known only to the Father, indicating tremendous intimacy with God) and the nature of our co-servitude to God with the angels?
OSAS & Rewriting the Book of Revelation
Published: October 5, 201519 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
I, like you, believe that we are saved as said in the Bible, by grace through faith and not of ourselves. I don’t think we can earn salvation at all but it is freely given, and it is not ours to give away or lose. In reading Revelation 22 I found the verses above that I need clarification on. Is this a sin that would remove someone who is in the Lamb’s book of Life? Thank you for your Scriptural integrity, may the Lord continue to bless you with wisdom and discernment.
Can You Walk Away From the Lord?
Published: October 5, 2015I heard a pastor say that if we walk away from the Lord and choose not to walk with him anymore that the epistles prove that your going to hell and not Heaven.
I study so hard and try to come to the truth. It is real hard to hear so many different things and they use scripture too and it sounds like it is the truth. We have no church in our rural town that is teaching the truth, the apostasy is here too. We have visited so many churches. It can be frustrating to get to the truth of the Bible with all of this that is going on. I appreciate your site and knowledge of the word of God.
Could you please give me scripture on what it does say if a believer walks away from the Lord. Some also say you don’t lose your salvation, but you can walk away from it and the Lord won’t force you to stay where you don’t want to be.
