Pergamum And The Mustard Seed
Published: November 12, 2015I have a question about the church at Pergamos. I have been working through your Bible study on the book of Revelation, and I am puzzled by something.
Could you please explain to me a little bit more about the parable of the Mustard Seed, and how this ties in with the church at Pergamos? I do not quite understand it, and I thought that perhaps you might be able to explain it to me. I would appreciate further insights into this passage of scripture and how it fits with Rev. 2:12-17.
I also want to tell you how much I appreciate your studies! They are wonderful, and I have learned so much through them.
Is My Brother Saved?
Published: November 12, 2015My brother passed on 4 days ago. He accepted Christ when he was a teenager. He fell in love with a Moslem lady and 2 years ago became a Moslem so that he could marry her. Does Ephesians 1:13-14 apply in his case? We have been praying for him since and felt so sad to see that he died without ever coming back to the Lord. Have we lost him forever or is he still saved?
What About My Unbelieving Husband?
Published: November 12, 2015I’m saved but my husband isn’t. He smokes marijuana, and drinks beer all the time. What does the bible say about this and what can I do? What are some scriptures to help me meditate on concerning this? Please Help!!!! I really don’t want to leave him because he is a good provider but I’ve thought about it. Is it biblical okay to leave him because of this? I really want to do the biblical thing!!!
Dinosaurs And The Great Pyramid
Published: November 11, 2015I’m just curious as to a couple of your essays. One concerning dinosaurs and the other about the great pyramid. In the one about dinosaurs you state that they came about as a result of genetic manipulation by Satan and his fallen angels. In the other article you state that the great pyramid was created by Ham I think. One of Noah’s sons.
What I’d like to know, is this speculation on your part based on the biblical stories? Or do you have any particular references in the bible, or else where, that gives these ideas? Im not trying to discount your ideas… I just find them interesting, as you are the first person Ive heard them from. I would find it interesting to learn your viewpoints.
By the way keep up the good work on the site. Your teaching about bible prophecy and the end times is clear and concise and well supported by scripture quotes. Which is nice, when trying to verify against the bible. Like the Bereans we must always be diligent to verify against the bible.
Did God Create Sin?
Published: November 11, 2015I recently “discovered” a verse in the book of Isaiah 45:7 and I quote, I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these [things]. If a strict interpretation of the bible is used, then this means that God creates evil or in my mind sin? What are your comments regarding this verse?
Life In The New Jerusalem
Published: November 11, 2015According to Jeremiah 30:11, God will completely destroy the nations during the Great Tribulation. What does the Hebrew word for “destroy” mean? Then, during the Millennium, it sounds as if the “world” begins in an Edenic condition again, so what will happen to restore it to that condition? Will there be miraculous acts by God to restore it physically and socially, and rebuild what sounds like essentially an agrarian society?
I’m excited by the whole scene because I’ve never been able to envision the Church sitting around in the New Jerusalem twiddling our thumbs. I see us as actively participating in meaningful work to rebuild the world and to help Jesus establish a society of justice, peace and plenty for all.
A Son’s Suicide
Published: November 11, 2015The son of friends has committed suicide and I have no idea how to console them. They were so hopeful that he would eventually come to know the Lord and then this tragedy happened. Is there anything at all in the Bible that could give them any hope for his soul? Anything you could offer would be of great help at this horrible time.
Where Do We Go When We Die?
Published: November 11, 2015I read your question and answer regarding Paradise. I have been under the impression that when we die we merely fall asleep until the rapture or second coming. Are you saying that we immediately go to heaven? If so can our loved ones already gone there look down and see what is going on here on earth?
Also, what happens to the unsaved when they die? They don’t immediately go to hell do they?
What Happens To An unsaved Soul?
Published: November 11, 2015I just read ‘Revelation 2 And 3 … Seven Letters To Seven Churches, Part 1, and have a question about the ‘It’s the second death that you have to watch out for. It’s the permanent one.’ statement.
Regarding the second death, what exactly happens to an unsaved soul? I’ve heard three views; the soul is banished to Hell to suffer eternal punishment by torment; the soul is totally destroyed and no longer exists (meaning there is no Hell); and the soul is totally separated from God in some inaccessible place, though not Hell, rather a dark place to spend eternity.
What’s your view?
Receiving For The Wrong We’ve Done
Published: November 11, 2015I was wondering about Col 3:23-25. It says that whatever we do should be done unto the Lord to receive a reward, but whoever does wrong will receive for the wrong he has done because there is no respect of persons. If whoever means whoever, then does that mean believers will receive for the wrongs they have done?
