Comparing The Seven Letters With Church History
Published: January 17, 2016Someone asked me a question on the 7 letters to the 7 churches in Revelation – how do people know that each church is representative of a church age in our history?
The Bride Of Christ
Published: January 16, 2016There are many conversations about our future and eternal role as members of the Church. These conversations are mostly about our role as priests and kings on the Lord’s side. But I haven’t heard any discussion about our future position as the Lord’s Bride. I have been thinking about that for a long time. The Book of Relevation speaks about the “Marriage of the Lamb,” If the Church is Jesus’ Bride now and there will be a future marriage ceremony in Heaven, does that mean that we all will be personally married to Him in Eternity? Is our position as “the Bride” symbolic or could it be taken literally?
Someday Lord, But Not Today, Follow-up
Published: January 16, 2016In your answer you said, “According to the Bible both these fears are irrational. The only qualification we have to meet for the rapture is to be born again.” What Scripture references are you basing this upon? The only verse I can think of that perhaps clearly alludes to this question is Luke 21:36 “Watch therefore and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass…” – and this seems to be definitely at variance with your view.
Then you said, “After all what rational person, upon being given the chance to go straight to Heaven and be blessed for all eternity would say, “Someday Lord, but not today.” It doesn’t make sense.” I think a self-centered rational person who felt they had nothing further to do here would say yes. But a rational person who cared for the fate of the lost or loved ones during the Tribulation could legitimately wish for more time if they felt their mission wasn’t complete yet.
Doesn’t Satan Know What’s Coming?
Published: January 16, 2016Does Satan not know what his end is? It is very clear in the bible, all the end time prophesies, etc. Standing in the temple proclaiming himself God and more. Why would continue along that prophesied path thinking he could possibly fight the Lord, win or even change things to his favor? I just don’t get it.
Who’s Going Where?
Published: January 16, 20161 Thessalonians 4:14 says God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. Verse 16 says that the Lord will descend from heaven (so, he’s on the way down) when the dead in Christ rise first then the following verse has those who are alive being caught up to meet him in the air. My question is who is he bringing with him (verse 14) and where is he bringing them?
This sequence of events doesn’t make sense to me. How can he bring them with him if they meet him in the air? It appears that the verse has him “bringing” those who died in Jesus with him when he returns to meet the living only to turn around and take everyone back to Heaven for the Marriage supper and the bema seat. Please enlighten me.
Someday Lord, But Not Today
Published: January 16, 2016All of my Christian friends believe in a pre trib rapture. But not a single one of them wants it to happen any time soon. They say they still have things they want to do first, whether it’s becoming more successful, or doing more for the Lord, or making sure all their loved ones are going, too. Every one of them says it will be a great day when it does happen, but they don’t want it to happen right now. All this is very discouraging to me as I look forward to the rapture every day and it can’t come too soon as far as I’m concerned.
Was The Lord’s Glory Hidden?
Published: January 16, 2016I was reading John 17 and two questions came to mind. Verses 1-5 describes the Father restoring Jesus’ glory. While Jesus was on this earth was his glory hidden or taken away so man would not recognize him as God? And my other question is, do you think he was referred to as the “Son” before he came to earth as a man? Or do you believe he might have been known as another name in heaven before that? Thanks for all that you do.
The Body Of Christ
Published: January 16, 2016Thank you for always giving scriptural references for you answers. I heard a pastor yesterday saying that we (believers) are literally the body of Christ. I wanted to know more about that comment and how it aligns itself to scripture.
More On Fear and Faith
Published: January 16, 2016I have a medical condition called anxiety, panic disorder. My brain does not produce enough seritonin. Panic disorder is an unknown and unrealistic fear. I have had this disorder all my life. According to God’s word fear and faith don’t mix. How does my condition relate to this? I have a lot of faith and when I have an attack instead of taking meds I pray. It goes away pretty quick when I pray. it bothers me that I am scared of everything for no good reason. How does the faith and fear issue work with this disorder?
Holy Ghost Or Holy Spirit?
Published: January 16, 2016Please help me understand the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit in the new testament. I have studied and am a bit confused over this. My pastor is determined to call him the Holy Spirit, and yet the “Spirit” like a dove descended on Jesus, and then there is the fruit of the “Spirit” yet the gift of the Holy Ghost … see what I mean? I have I believe some understanding but would encourage your input.
