Extra-Biblical Information

Published: May 22, 2016
Q

I have been reading your article From Adam to Abraham and pondering about the idol worship going on in Ur and ancient Mesopotamia at the time of Terah and Abraham. I came across an article giving more information than the Bible gives about Abraham and his father. It’s info from the Torah, Talmud, and the Midrash. I find it very informative; however, I don’t know how to trust this info since it goes into a lot of detail that I can’t find in our scriptures. I certainly would appreciate your take on this and I do appreciate your Q & A’s with your gifted knowledge of scripture.

Questions About The New Jerusalem

Published: May 22, 2016
Q

I have heard that once the 2nd coming and all judgments are completed, the New Jerusalem here on Earth will be the only habitat for the Jewish nation, which will be led by Christ. I was also told the Gentiles will be given supernatural bodies and we will have the ability to travel the universe at will, including making visits to the New Jerusalem, but not actually taking up residence there. What say you to this?

Who Are The Angels Of Rev. 2-3?

Published: May 22, 2016
Q

Q. I love your site and I have always had an interest in the Book of Revelation. While reading it one day I came to the realization when the Lord is talking to the churches, it ACTUALLY says the angels of the churches. So my question is, it makes a difference if he’s talking to the angels of the church or the church directly themselves meaning believers. So what significance is it then and why is he speaking to the angels of the churches?

King Of The Whole Earth?

Published: May 22, 2016
Q

I have been listening to your mp3 series on Daniel. I have a question on “earth ownership” and the authority to set up kingdoms. In Daniel 2:37,38 it is clear that God established Nebuchadnezzar as king, and in fact king of the earth. Also, Romans 13:1 states that the “authorities that exist are appointed by God.” However, in Matthew 4:8,9 Satan offers Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if he would worship him. I’m a little confused on how Satan can make his offer. What am I missing? Is Satan speaking of the spiritual forces behind the thrones?

Fulfilling God’s Will?

Published: May 20, 2016
Q

I have always wondered about the anti-Semitic epithet of “Christ Killers.” I think awareness of God’s purpose is that the Jews were fulfilling His will by “crucifying the Lord of Glory” whose primary purpose in coming to earth was to die in their place for the sins of mankind, but in effect, for the sins of believers. While it does not mitigate their guilt, the “Christ Killers,” were doing the will of God by fulfilling prophecy. That understanding requires a degree of abstraction many are unable to achieve.

Is Anointing With Oil Proper?

Published: May 20, 2016
Q

There are a lot of pastors who dip their finger in some holy oil and then lay hands on people. This oil is sold and advertised on TV. The Bible says we have to pray and heal the sick in the name of Jesus only. When the use of oil is questioned, these pastors answer by saying in the book of James 5:14 we are instructed to lay hands on the sick and anoint them with oil. Is this verse being applied correctly? Does the usage of oil in this verse have supernatural effect or medicinal effect?

Inspiration Of The Holy Spirit

Published: May 20, 2016
Q

Wouldn’t it be more accurate to state that the Bible was written under either the “guidance” or “authority” of the Holy Spirit rather than the “inspiration”? I realize that at first blush this might seem like hair splitting; however, I think that using a word slightly stronger than “inspiration” would better convey the authority of the Gospels. People might question less and read more.

Did God Create Evil?

Published: May 20, 2016
Q

If God is the Creator of all things, the Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent One of all there is, was and ever will be, did He, in all of his Wisdom and Knowing, also create Evil? And if so, why? And, if He did not, why doesn’t God, who is all-powerful, destroy Evil?

Why Do We Need To Ask God To Forgive Us?

Published: May 12, 2016
Q

I am in a Church that teaches “The Grace ” message. That is that Christ died for the sins of the whole world, once and for all. There is no need to ask for forgiveness of sins, as all sins have been forgiven. All that’s needed is to believe in the Lord Jesus. As Jesus Himself said:” Believe in The One He has sent, and you will be saved.”

Why Did God Give The Law?

Published: May 12, 2016
Q

I would like to know why God gave the Law. Up to the time of Moses, people had a relationship built on faith. Other than the conclusion, “the law is to show up your sinful nature” why do you think God gave the Law?
