Why Was Jesus Standing?
Published: September 11, 2016I have a question about Acts 7:56 when Stephen was being stoned and heaven opened up and he saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God. In another teaching I was listening to the teacher implied that it meant something that Jesus was standing and not sitting. I’ve looked this up and gotten a few different explanations. I’d like to know what you think about this.
Only 10% saved?
Published: September 11, 2016Recently I was reading several of the letters on your site and where you said that only about 10% of the people in Church today are really saved. I am curious as to how you arrived at that percentage. I have always felt that some of the people who were born and raised in the church didn’t get it. I think I ‘ve had a couple of preachers along the way who didn’t get either, but 90% seems high.
To Share Or Not To Share
Published: September 11, 2016The leader of a men’s group I attend told me it’s OK to tell the group that I’m struggling with sin, but not to share the particular sin I am struggling with. I was always told I should share my sins with a group of men so they can pray for me. They might even be suffering from the same sin and be encouraged to come forward because of my honesty. I think the leader of the group is wrong. What’s your opinion on this?
Is The Father Greater Than The Son?
Published: September 8, 2016I don’t have a problem with the trinity but I have a friend who does. He asked me why did Jesus say “My Father is Greater than I.” How would you answer that question?
Redeeming The Time
Published: September 8, 2016Not too long ago I sat under some teaching about the Bema Seat judgment. The teacher said that if we weren’t “redeeming the time” we won’t lose our salvation, but we would not receive any rewards. He said that according to Hebrews 10:31, it was a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God and that is exactly what we will be doing if we aren’t redeeming the time. He also said that the Lord won’t wipe every tear from our eyes until after the 1,000 year reign of Christ. So until then we will feel sorrow for lost loved ones and friends we fell short on preaching the gospel to. That is our punishment for not redeeming the time like we should have. Is this teaching true?
Where Are Those Who Died Before Christ?
Published: September 8, 2016Where are those who died before Christ? Such as David, Moses, or any Jew or gentile ( assuming that they were saved). Are their spirits with the Lord? And will they be reunited with bodies at The Rapture like The Church dead will be? I read that The Rapture is for The Church solely. Yet from my own studies I can’t find out . All I am clear on is that The Church , both the living and the dead, will be raised and caught up.
Do I Have Enough Faith?
Published: September 8, 2016Is it true it only takes a small amount of faith in the Lord to become saved, or do you need a lot? The Bible talks about mustard seed sized faith, but I’ve also heard you need to believe with all of your heart. What if a person definitely wants to be saved but doesn’t think they have the faith they need?
Brother And Sister Or Husband And Wife?
Published: September 8, 2016I thought it strange that Abraham claimed Sarah was his sister twice and then Isaac did the same thing. Apparently, they both feared for their lives, (rather than laying down their lives for their wives). Abraham had experienced great military victories in the past, too, so it is hard to conceive he was fearful of anything or anyone. Was there a middle east custom whereby a husband would be killed to obtain his wife?
Using The Name Of Jesus
Published: September 8, 2016I have heard Acts 19:13-16 used to support that only those called to the ministries of deliverance and spiritual warfare may cast out demons in Jesus’ name. But that doesn’t seem right to me. It seems to me that anyone with the Holy Spirit in them should be able to invoke his name and that forces of hell must obey. I do notice that that the exorcists in Acts 19 were Jews, not Christians, But I don’t see how it relates to the demon’s response. Why was the demon unaffected by the use of the Lord’s name? I thought demons couldn’t stand to hear the name of Jesus. Can you help clarify what this passage is saying?
Moses Was Speaking For God
Published: September 8, 2016I read Deuteronomy 13:6-18, and I wondered whether was Moses speaking as a man or for God. In my mind there’s no room to believe that our all-loving Father is inciting people for such a violence. What do you think?
