Walking With “Believers” Falling Short

Published: April 28, 2017
Q

I want to be obedient, and not to quarrel among other believers. But so many other believers are falling short, in my opinion, in that they are of the Emergent Church, LDS, JW, or Mary worshipping. My question is, how am I to deal with these people, when they claim that Jesus is their savior? And, is it the “right” Jesus even? How can I walk or fellowship with them?

God bless you Jack, I enjoy your site. I thank God when I do find other believers basing all that they learn on His Word.

Ripe For Deception

Q

It is clear that the battle of Ezekiel 38-39 and the battle of Armageddon are two separate battles. I also believe that the battle of Ezk 38-39 could occur either shortly before the rapture, or shortly after the rapture. But there are very vocal people who claim these two battles to be the same event. Do you think this could be setting the world up to accept the Antichrist?

Worthy To Escape

Q

Would you be kind enough to explain Luke 21:36? I am a born again Christian depending on what Christ sacrificed on the cross for me. I do not believe I am worthy to escape what is soon to happen, except for Christ in me, He alone is worthy. I am confused as to why it states in Luke 21:36 to pray always that I may be worthy to escape.

Healing Prayers

Q

I came across a webpage last week which states if you suffer from certain ailments, you can pray to God using the psalms and the illnesses would heal. For example if you suffer from bad luck, you should pray the fourth psalm. If you have poor sight in your left eye, recital of the sixth psalm should cure it. I have even come across books which teach similar things, but they also say you should use candles anointed with oil. Isn’t this wrong? Shouldn’t you just pray to Jesus and have faith that He will heal whatever ailments you suffer from? Using candles and the psalms isn’t necessary, is it?

When Do The Gifts Cease?

Some say spiritual gifts were only for the apostolic era. Others say they continue in our time. Does the Bible say when the expression of spiritual gifts will cease?

What Did Paul Mean In 1 Thes. 4:3-6?

Published: April 27, 2017
Q

In 1 Thess. 4, it says let each man find a wife in a way that is holy and honorable. What does he mean let no one take advantage of him in this process? Is it referring to cheating him like Laban did Jacob? Is it adultery or fornication? Or could it be referring to everything?

Restoring Our Fellowship With God

Published: April 26, 2017
Q

In your commentary on Psalm 121 you discussed the benefit of confession. With the many ways human religion has clouded this issue, would you clarify the Biblical view of confession? Exactly what is required to restore my fellowship with the Lord? What about the sins of thought that we might forget about? Do we have to remember each sin in order to ask forgiveness? Or is asking to be forgiven from all sins sufficient? Thank you for your help in this matter!

The Great Sabbath Debate

Q

I was raised a Protestant, have Messianic Jewish friends and have attended their services and they are on Saturday. How can the Christian Church and the Jewish (Messianic) people have such a difference?

We should be on the same page. Please explain if you can. Thank you and God Bless.

Did God Condone Cannibalism?

Published: April 26, 2017
Q

Can you help me with understanding this verse or the larger context? A friend of mine claims that some bible versions endorsed cannibalism.

Lev 26:29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

Life Before Adam

Q

I was watching a pastor on a satellite channel, and he states there was a creation on earth before Genesis. He also stated that the serpent seduced Eve, and became the father of Cain. This just doesn’t pass the smell test to me. Where did this come from?
