Believer To Follower
Published: August 16, 2017I have a question about verse Luke 9:23. Is this verse talking about sanctification? or eternal salvation? And finally, what are we to deny ourselves? Thank you for your time.
Are Pastors Allowed To Retire?
Published: August 16, 2017How does a Pastor retire from the service of God? I can find no scripture to support this action. And from what I do see, It looks like all leaders of the old and new testament died in service to God. Even Paul was sick and God used him in his sickness. I just don’t get it. My Pastor was an anointed teacher of God and he stepped down this way. And I guess it still bothers me.
More On The Sabbath
Published: August 15, 2017Re: Why Do You Do What Is Unlawful On The Sabbath? I wonder what made you want to write about the seventh day? After all it’s one of the 10 commands we have as guide lines for our lives. Clearly the fourth command upsets many and many will one day wonder why they made such a feast of trying to ignore it. There’s no other command that seems to attract as much reasoning why not to keep it as this one. The Catholics have tried to change everything that may link to the Jewish upholding of feasts, days, and times etal. More the reason to agree with our Father.
To those who delete from His scriptures He will delete from their future and to those who add they will receive the plagues.
Unlawful On The Sabbath, Follow Up
Published: August 14, 2017I read the article “Why do you do what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” My question is then do we have to keep the sabbath day which is Saturday as our day of worship?
Understanding John 15:5-6
Published: August 14, 2017I heard a sermon on this passage which I completely disagreed with. If I understood correctly, it seemed the pastor said that believers who do not bear fruit, or refuse to allow the Holy Spirit to work through them to bear fruits of love would be taken away and “purged or cleansed” in the fire to help them grow…something to that effect. As I understand it, believers can suffer loss but I’ve never read or been taught they will have to go through some type of purgatory. This teaching sounds like more “overcomers” theory.
What’s The Difference?
Published: August 14, 2017What is the difference between seeking the kingdom (Matt. 6.33) , and seeking God (Psalm 34.10) and how do we know when we have achieved these things to God’s satisfaction? In other words we have fulfilled the conditions so that God can begin to bless.
Our Sabbath Rest
Published: August 11, 2017But every Church I go to has a different teaching about the Sabbath. One says we don’t need to keep it. Another says Jesus is our Sabbath so we keep it whether we rest on a day or not. Even another says that we can keep it if we want to, and disregard it if we would rather do that. Imagine the confusion we laypeople go through. We don’t have time to become famous Bible expositors. Who is correct about the Sabbath?
Are Fish and Shellfish OK To Eat?
Published: August 11, 2017Can you please explain about eating fish? As in Deuteronomy, we may eat all water animals that has both fins and scales on it. But current studies talk about the danger of eating fish which has medium to high mercury content. So, It contradicts the word of GOD. Also, can we eat prawns & lobsters, because they don’t have scales & fins. Are they detestable? Kindly explain. It bothers me a lot.
How Could He Have Known?
Published: August 11, 2017In John 3:10, when Jesus asked Nicodemus, “Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?” What things is Jesus referring to? If He is referring to being born again, how could Nicodemus have known? Isn’t this the first time the phrase “born again” was used in history?
Church Or Synagogue
Published: August 10, 2017The word Church (ekklesia) is only used in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, the word congregation (adar) is used. If the same thing is being referred to in the Old as well as the New, then why only use Church in the New and congregation in the Old when translating to English?
One possible answer: The English translators (under the influence of gentile ‘church’ fathers) deliberately used the word in the New but used a different word in the Old to make a separation between Israel and the new covenant brethren that was never there.
